Re: Prop Pitch

With your upgrades, I would start @ 7 deg and fine tune from there (that is assuming you are around 3 or 4 deg higher now). My rig is a 12' glass w/350 dd and 71" 5 blade warp. Started out 72" and it ran best at 5deg all round, 2950 rpm WOT. I chipped a tip and cut 1/2" off the tips. Now runs 2900 W...

Re: Why so high?

I don't think there is enough water in the St. Johns right now to raise the whole Indian River Lagoon. Mabye drop the salinity near runoff, but not raise the level a foot. Mabye we will never know.

Why so high?

Just wonderin', why is the water so high in the indian river lagoon? If I recall correctly, by this time of year the water should be a lot lower. Water is at high mark on pilings in non tidal areas and low tide is higher than high tide usually is this time of year close to Ponce and Sebastian. Water...

Re: THIS NEW BREED OF SO CALLED AIRBOATER

Thats why the saying goes: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you... ...not do unto others as they have done unto you. We all have experiences when we saw how not to live. I continue doing what I believe to be the right thing and I sleep well at night. Tough part is passing that on and no...

hogdog help!

I have a couple of 4 month old mutts. How do I know if they are of any use as hog dogs? I would appreciate any pointers on how to get them started. I brought one down a hog trail. He got really nervous as we got closer to where I think they were bedding. Brought them both to Toso to let them see a f...

Re: Custom Frog Gigs

I would Like For some people to generate some comments (likes, dislikes, ideas, ect.) Thanks! Nice wraps. Only thought for improvement would be the head. If you could streamline the replaceable tip gig head they would look cooler. I made one where the tips(straight hooks) are wrapped to the tip of ...

Re: hunting north of 520

For the most part. I did ask 3 different FWC officers about exactly where I could and could not hunt around there and got different answers. Two said "Just stay in the mgmt area." with no further explanation (they were together). The third, and the first one I asked said, "As long as you stay in the...

Dang its smooth! Mabye my old woodie was out of balance or somethin'. But DANG that Warp Drive is SMOOOTH!

Re: warp drive torque specs

Thanks Deepsea, I really apreciate the offer, but either way I will want to get one for myself. That way I can irritate the neighbors all day adjustin' it, floorin' it, dumpin' it in the yard and doin' doughnuts and repeat. Who knows, after all that fun, I may not even want to go to the marsh to run...

Thats what I was thinkin' but I wanted to make sure it was accurate enough. You know, with 5 guillatines spinnin' just under the speed of sound right behind me I figured it was worth a second oppinion. Thanks guys.

You guys know anywhere in the East Orange/North Brevard area to get a Warp Drive protractor? I am chompin' at the bit to set it up and the guy I got the prop from doesn't want to part with his. Long story short, he was supposed to have another one today but doesn't. Is there any other way to set pit...

Re: dry ground help.

Seems a little low. I know nothing about ac motors so wait 'till somebody else chimes in, but it sounds like a little less pitch would help. Interesting though. My 350dd is the opposite. It runs dry for a short while then stops. Wiggle it free and off it goes for another 60 yds or so. I wonder if it...

Re: dry ground help.

Also, how dry is dry. My boat runs DRY ground o.k. wet ground at idle but if I stop in muck it eats it. You mentioned you are new (I am too) so I will state the obvious. Don't stop anywhere the the mud can conform to the boat. Park high and dry.

Re: Still Lookin for Them Frogs

I can't believe Y'all didn't mention trolling. Tie on a red and white plastic bobber and a treble hook. Slide the bobber all the way down to the treble and troll it behind the boat. The bobber makes the hook weedless and when a frog tries to eat it you got him with the treble. Deably on those green ...

Re: Warp Drive Max RPM

I am more confused than before. I run a 350dd. Needing a new prop I did a little looking. What I was thinking was the same as yall. I saw the tip speed calc. and thought a small 5 blade (68") spinnin' at 3250 would be a great idea. But when I called Warp Drive and asked the best prop for a 350dd the...

Re: Still Lookin for Them Frogs

One teqnique that works for me is to arive an hour or so before sundown. Stop the boat in a likely spot and drink a cold beverage. If you didn't hear any by the end of it go to a new spot and repeat. If you did, still go to a new spot and repeat. By the time it gets dark, you should have a pretty go...
