Those are what appears to be lead plugs. I assume for weight. They have been there ever since I got it

Also noticed another on the other blade. Can it be refurbed or is it about to become a clock?

Wood Prop Help?

I am hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. Looking for someone in the North Brevard to East Orange area that will look at/refurb a wood prop. Has one 4" crack parallel to trailing edge. Not sure if their is help for it.

I am looking for a little help preserving gator heads. I see lots of preserved gator heads for sale cheap. Cheaper than skulls. And at my house skulls are easy... ...The foundation is built on a fire ant mound. How are they preserving heads easier than putting one in an ant mound? Looks like a mount...

Re: thinkin about my first boat.

I am also pretty new to airboats, but here are a couple of things that I have learned. First, DO NOT BUY A BOAT THAT THE OWNER DOES NOT ENCOURAGE YOU TO RIDE IN! I have read a sickening number of posts about people on their first run and it going VERY BADLY! Don't expect him to let you drive but he ...

Re: Loughman Lake Lodge need your help

Don't just suppotrt the site, support the place. Best darn country fried chicken dinner you're gonna find anywhere up and down the marsh. That and a beer will cost you about as much as the gas to slightly moisten the polymer. Together, it is hard to want for anything else....

Re: Violated in Cocoa!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be better if it was crack heads. That doesn't sound like pawn-able stuff though. It is airboater on airboater crime. Remember that line from The Silence Of The Lambs: We covet what we see every day? I belive it to be absolutely true. My guess is that somebody that drives past your house dail...

Re: broken nose

Yeah, I don't have a brace on there. Just a stock 2 bolt mount. Thanks guys. Makes sense. With the additional load of the prop, the starter gear has nowhere to go but away from the flywheel.

broken nose

Is this common? A couple of days ago my wife and I launched at Midway, went to Loughman's for dinner and planned on a little lizard chasin' after. We shut down to wait one out. But when I went to restart it just grinded. A quick look and the nose broke off the starter. I'll spare you the details but...

WOW! Has to be the most incredible thing I have seen an airboat do. Makes me wonder... ...anybody ever have a dry pulling event at an airboat race? Entertainment for the masses. Bad for the boats, great for the fans!

Re: Poling Skiff

I used to own a Gheenoe. Didn't like it much at all. Needs a trailer to launch 'cuz its heavy. Also very hard to paddle. Needed 12"+ to run with a gas motor. Not much more stable than a regular canoe but without the ease of use and launching. If you are looking for the toughest thin boat made thats ...

I am also a newbie to airboats, but I am quickly seeing parrells to what I do know a little about. For what its worth... A crate motor in an airboat is kinda like a 4 cyl 2WD S-10 in the mud. If you are carefull and stick to the firm stuff on the sides you will be fine for years. But if you want to ...

Sounds like a good case for fiberglass. Just wondering though... ...why are 3 out of 4 boats I see on the marsh aluminum? Is glass a better deep water boat and alum. a better hill runner?
