They are about the same as some other builders I have used. They use a lot of Bill Mitchell parts. I haven't had a problem with the 540 they built me but this is the first one and it only has a few hours on it but so far I'm impressed with it.Sniper25 wrote:Ohio Crankshaft seems really cheap for the hp ratings.

Re: All aluminum 632
I am running a 2.55 Ox drive on this one I usually use the 2.38 but this one seems to be working well on this boat. I ran a 84 inch 4 blade R series and it cruises about 3200 at around 34mph and pushes good on the ground.

Re: AIRBOAT HELP
You can get a new one built with a big block with a reduction unit and 4 blade prop built with the seating the way you want it cheaper than some of the used ones I have seen for sale. I have built and delivered a bunch of boats to Texas and have more headed that way. Just make sure whatever you get ...

Re: car motor engine builder??
Blue print won't warranty them on an airboat from what I have been told. I know there is a 383 with a 177 blower on it that Glen built sitting at American motorsports in Orlando that made 500hp I believe Glen wants 7500 if I am not mistaken. It's brand new

Re: What kind of an airboat do I need ??
About 90 percent of the boats I build are for customers in Texas and by far the most popular size is 18 x 8 with 28-30 inch sides 3/8 poly with 5/16 on the side I usually do side by side rear operator with a 3 man bench up front and use either a 496 or 540 big block with a 2.3 reduction and 4 blade ...

Re: New ecotec concerns
Hey, Chuck I have a customer wanting to run a eco tech on a 16x8 in Alaska and be able to haul 2 guys and 1000 pounds of gear also he wants an enclosed cab on the boat. I don't know anything about these engines but it seems to me that it will be to much boat for that engine since he will need to run...

Re: Coast of a new boat
I have customers use their banks all the time as long as you have a down payment and credit it shouldn't be a problem. I am building 2 that will be for sale a 15x8 with a 383 2.55 box and 4 single seats with a 3 blade r prop with trailer and all it will be 37 and change and a 16x8 with a all aluminu...

Re: Coast of a new boat
14 x 8 with a small block and stainless rigging is gonna be between 34 and 37 just about anywhere. I built a 15x8 with a 500hp 383, 2.55 ox box 81 inch 3 blade r series side by side rear op with a triple front and a aluminum trailer for 35,500. They are not getting any cheaper as materials keep goin...

Re: Affliction Airboats
Thanks painkiller, I try to do little things that seem simple but they make a big difference to the customer and really that's what its all about. I built a boat for a Deputy in LA and I had a custom black pedal made with a line machined across it and had the line painted blue for the thin blue line...

How long have you been in business, An how long have you been around airboats? I have been messing around with airboats for 20 years or so I used to get a lot of hulls from Panther when Bud was alive but I have known Dave and Raymond for years and after I got my first Alumitech hull and seen how we...

Re: Affliction Airboats
I tend to agree with more personal service from a small company the down side is turn around time there is no way I can compete with the big guys and it takes longer to get hulls built and other things but in just over 2 years we have turned out around 20 boats and I am very proud of everyone of the...

Re: Affliction Airboats
Is there a benefit to having Affliction assemble an Alumitech Airboat for you? Are there things that he can do that Alumitech can't or won't, I.e. front steering, lights, etc? Can you save any money or time? Alumitech builds a good boat, maybe Affliction has more time to visit with a customer about...
