Re: REAL AIRBOATERS

My 1 cents worth: Basically what it boils down to is these were/are real men, airboat or not. Family values, genuine morals, respect for the land, and most of all God. Most of the so called men/metro/liberal/and whatever else pussified classifications of men we have today are why this country is goi...

Re: Leakdown Test Question.

Thanks for checking the boat out today Tom, looks like if I'm going to keep this motor I'm going to have it done right and just do the 470 conversion and be done with it. As soon as the funds come the speedwilly special is a go. Running out of band-aids lol.

Re: Leakdown Test Question.

10-4 yep 80lbs and I done it before that's how I knew which cylinders to pull cause of the valves were bad but i can't figure out the 0 reading on all now plus I put my finger on the end of the hose of the tester and it worked fine. Good compression in all cylinders but 0 on leak down. Even 0 on the...

Leakdown Test Question.

I started out by checking the compression on my cylinders and they all were showing 120 and to 150. Now my question is why the heck am i getting a 0 reading on not one but all of my cylinders? I let the cylinders heat up before i checked them and i made sure i had the piston on TDC with valves close...

Re: Please help!! 220 gpu problem!

I switched to a 4412 500 Holley and I'm pretty happy with it. Was running a 1405 edelbrock 4 barrel and got the same sputtering problem when trying to stomp down on it.

Re: Whisper Tip/Signature Seeries

I like my 72 narrow WT. Good cruise at 1800rpm on 15b mark. Had it set on 12.5 for a while and boat would go anywhere but I was turning 3000rpm WOT and lousy cruise at about 2300 to 2500 rpm, but she would jump out the hole instantly. I like saving my gas now so 2750 rpm WOT for me is a good all aro...

Re: Dialing in and tuning a carb.

Will try that also, I been wondering what would happen if I fiddled with the accerator pump, thanks. If I end up getting this carb running right the other one I want might have to wait a little longer.

Re: Dialing in and tuning a carb.

That's some great info there, thanks. I did read the edelbrock manual and set the floats at 7/16 but will try 1/4. I got nothing but time to tinker with this carb so I thank all for the help and info. Gonna try and mess with it after work through the week.

Re: Dialing in and tuning a carb.

Pretty sure I don't have any leaks, I replaced lines and clamps, will check the gas tank, didn't think that would be a problem unless I'm sucking air in from the tube on the inside or something. I know the pump is working good for sure. The idle mixture screws needing to be at least 4 turns out seem...

Dialing in and tuning a carb.

Is there anyone out there that knows how to dial in an edelbrock carb? I know what carb I should be running as I asked a while back and almost bought one untill I had to get a new prop. So right now I just want to see if I can get this carb running right untill I get my carb I really want. The probl...

Re: 220/prop

If your talkin paddle props then my 220 only turned a 72/38 at 2600. I thought that was good for that size prop. Cruised at 1400 to 1600 and topped out about 50mph. Was a Florida airprop.
