Re: Boat trailers

Have you checked with McClain since your in Houston. They still have a galvanized line of trailers. If your planning on keeping your boat a while, aluminum would seem like the only choice in salt. Its been since '04 that I had a trailer built, but aluminum only ran about 30% more. If I remember corr...

Re: Duck Hunting in Lousana and upper Gulf Coast!!!

Very good question that I've asked others as well. I consider coastal marshes to be winter "feeding" grounds unlike nesting areas. Just as some years offer better habitat growth than other years, birds tend to congregate where the "groceries" are. Some years are horrible in certa...

Re: Rock port fishing

My buddies ran over several small pods behind ya'll each morning last weekend. I'll probably be buzzing by ya'll in the afternoon shutting down in the mouth of S. Lake. I'm running a lime green shallow sport.

Was it you or one of the other house boat members that sold a 15' AirRanger this last year?

Was down two weeks ago and will be there this weekend. Haven't fished from airboat but doing pretty well from our prop boat. Drum are starting to be fairly predictable in the afternoons around backlakes. Easy to spot schools tailing around 4-5 in afternoon. Takes a little time but peeled shrimp thre...

Drove past that every morning going to work in the early 90's. As we say to the little kids, "Get me another blue coke out of the cooler". (Sounds better than get me a beer) :P

Thats one clean set-up! After seeing this, I'm going to be forced to change all my fuel lines.

I've got to run to Allen's this week also to pick up my 454. Its suppose to be dyno'd today or tomorrow. I'm pretty excited to say the least.

Even had one of my team mates wake Friday morning missing half a tooth. He's pretty much "Dr. Faggot" from now on with the group.

If you haven't seen the movie, please rent it and watch it atleast 3 times and you'll understand.

Good luck down South.......... Thought I'd give a update for this past weekend at the Shallow Sport tournament (braggin rights). Got back Monday and had a incredible trip. Only wish we had the airboat down there since the water was up from previous years flooding miles of flats with 6" of wate...

I assume it was guided division? Either way thats awesome! We attended the party both days with our 5mo. old. Might have seen us since we were the only ones with a stroller and a infant. I stayed off the water since my buddys wife was fishing most of our water by herself. She ended up placing 4th in...

You might hit up Hogheaven for info. Seems thats his main stompin' ground. Saw him Saturday burning across S. Bay in his new deckover. I'd be more than happy to hook up but only passing through to pickup up the boat for a tournament in S. Padre. Good Luck!!

Thats the beauty of these 40's. Easy to work on and all nuts and bolts. Drop the front bib and pull both tranny and block. Its amazing what the F weighs. Something like 220# more than a sbc. I probably can't top dropping the engine or cutting my foot but the first rebuild I didn't get the distributo...

The first engine I ever pulled and rebuilt was a '72 F. Later swapped for a 2F thinking I'd be happier. Rebuild kit around 10yrs. ago from SOR or Mark's ran close to $1k without machine work. You did good but you knew that. Lucky SOB to have had that as a first vehicle. Looks to be in incredible con...

500hp. Also, I need an 8qt. oil pan. Any ideas on what I should buy? (for a 454) I want a good one. Don't have to be pretty  Went with the zink Moroso pan from Jegs for around $180 plus pickup. How did that pan work out for you? I still haven't got one yet. 90% I catch my self throwing a TTF Killer Flats Minnow in Pumpin/chart or white. If the trout bite is good, I switch over to a 4" Norton sand eel. Reds always seem to prefer a paddle tail style over jerk bait. Trout are the other way around being they are middle to surface water feeders. Confid...

My tp&w title has a vin# and a serial number for the engine block. I was told by the desk clerk the title would need to be changed or updated if I replaced the motor. I would think they could track the info off of the "motor numbers" as its called.

I agree with you, but my mileage has overall been great. I hunt in Bandera and have had numerous rocks try to puncture the sidewall and I like that much tire on the ground. Are you saying you pulled your airboat while getting 16mpg? I'm running a '08 Dodge (6.7) and average 14.5 not pulling and 9.5...

This is what myself and others I fish with wear for the most part. http://www.simmsfishing.com/site/flats_sneaker.html Patagonia makes a similar design as well. Both are pricey but worth every penny if traveling long distances in mud. The less expensive shimano/hodgman neoprene zip up boots are pret...
