Re: WHY I WILL NEVER RUN FLY BY WIRE THROTTLES IN AIRBOATS!
Why does everything have to be so complicated. We use to tie wire or string to our go-kart carburators. I'm just saying
Nevermind, I just remembered they don't won't you working on it.

Weldandglass,
Just make sure when you run through the "locks" that you give the operator a good ole' #1 salute when passing by. They've become a real pain in the ass in the last few years.

Mr. Bob,
Whats the story behind the two layers of poly down the center of your hull? Really like the color of the boat also.

TP&W airboat auction
Looking around last night and ran across a 16' project boat. Thought it might make someone a good platform for a nice project. Poly, hulls in decent shape, galvanized trailer, and carbon fiber prop. Can't really tell if it has reduction or not. I'm sure sure the engine is toast if the State is done ...

Re: Matagorda Airboat Launch
I've never tried putting in a airboat in the harbor but now curious. I guess its up to the Harbor Master to make whatever rules for his harbor. He might not allow them since his personal house is close.

Re: Matagorda Airboat Launch
Why wouldn't they allow airboats in the harbor? No different than any other State built ramp? For East bay, the ditch across from Rawlings always saved us some time and Riverbend's not far from the diversion channel and West bay.

Re: WHERE TO BUY CAMO
Camo has become the greatest marketing ploy ever. After a couple of years of production, manufacturers change the patterns. Take MossyOak "Shadowgrass" for example. Great camo pattern but discontinued it for the new and improved "Duckblind" pattern. I've had to throw away all the...

Re: ??? Fishin' The Texas Coast ???
I'd stick with Shimano products if all possible along with a nice 7' light-tip Allstar, Castaway, American Rodsmith rod. Ambassadors are extremely durable but are heavier than most Shimanos and more difficult to cast. The most popular reel in the last few years is probably the green Shimano Curado 2...

Re: ??? Fishin' The Texas Coast ???
The great thing about fishing the coast is the wide variety of fish and fishing techniques. The old standby live-bait vs. artifishing and wadefishing vs. fishing out of a boat debate is up to you. Over the last 20yrs, I've chosen artificial over bait while wadefishing 95% and learned a lot more abou...

Re: Engine choice help
Notaguide..... what about just finding a good running motor like yours at a wrecker and stick that straight in your boat? cheap and easy (as long as the replacement motor is good to start with)[/quote] I would be in the same condition I'm in now. Not knowing what I have is part of the problem. What ...
