Re: JACKS

Like the design of the last one. Looks pretty stout. Seems to me they only push on the inner T-bars and not the outer two??

Re: Holley fuel pump issues

Sorry to beat a dead horse :blackeye: . Just felt like it was owner error with having so few hours. Wished I had asked before dropping another $120 for another. Will be trying to return it this week.

Holley fuel pump issues

I'm sure it's been discussed before, but here goes. Burned up a pump with probably 10hrs on it while averaging relatively low rpm's (3500 or less). Blue Holley pump located below tank level, running a inline (clear) 3/8 filter before pump with 3/8 line. Pump gave no warning and died while cruising. ...

Re: JACKS

Anyone have a couple of good photos of there jack design. I invision a piece of angle or tubing across the stringers with all-thread of some sort pushing off the motor stand. Would love to see a good design to follow. My hull is no where near porpoising and it could use a little bottom support :roll...

Re: Any fish in the back lakes (Rockport) ?

Nice catch. Got home from RP at 3 yesterday and took boat out to Bastrop Bay area for evening bite. Located the fish in shallow water believe it or not and caught nine keeper reds, one 4 lb flatfish and several slimy trout. Three of the reds were over 33 inches in 6 inches of water. All caught on S...

Re: Any fish in the back lakes (Rockport) ?

Got back yesterday evening from a great weekend. Left the airboat home and fought the crowds out of the prop boat. Fished about every possible direction from Rockport. We fish 99% plastic and any fish we can catch this time of year is a bonus. Started Thursday in Shamrock with a few good reds and tr...

Re: What Garmin?

Good question Rost. I've been running a Garmin 540 for the last 2-3yrs. and like the ease of function and layout. Don't like that its only loaded with the Coastal maps and has a blank screen while running rivers. I know they can be loaded with more maps and would be interested in if a road package i...

80,

Thanks for the report. We'll be hitting it early tomorrow morning and might drown a shrimp or two along Quarantine and Morris Cummings. Would much rather eat blacks than reds if smaller. Thanks agin.

Re: Welding and how to tell SS?

Rost,

Here's the best photo I have at the moment of the stick. Won't be around the boat until early next week. Its a pretty crude bend both ways but works pretty good. When I first picked up the boat, I re-welded creases the previous owner created by bending. Hope it helps.

Re: Shotgun Shells

Just sounded to me like your still using lead on private property. Sorry if I took it the wrong way. Steel shots been mandatory since the 1984-85 State wide if memory serves me correct. There was a year or two the coast was exempt, but I believe it was before '85.

Re: Early teal on the coast?

Sounds like Nelli's gonna have a great season. Its always taken atleast one season for my dogs to figure everything out even with a lot of pre-training. I've also got a pup who will be enjoying his first year. It ought to be interesting.

i not a duck expert. nor a pro duck hunter. but i've killed quite a few. i shot all mine off tanks creep over the dam & shoot em when they take off. I used 2 3/4'' 4 shot & 6 sometimes but 4 worked real well. I think all my rounds were plain lead shot lol. but public waters i think your suppose to ...

Re: Early teal on the coast?

I agree with the others. Fished a lot in later Sept. and Oct. over the years and only see random groups by chance. It would be hard to actually target the area they prefer IMOP. We've got a 6 man lease in Italy (south of Dallas) on a conservation lake thats hit or miss depending on the year. Last ye...

Re: ? marine stero speakers

I've invested a lot of time and dollars keeping a working system in boats over the 15 years. Love having tunes on the boat but it does have a cost. Whether its fresh or saltwater, it gonna get abused. For speakers, JL Audio, Wet-sound, or Poly-planar are your better choice (not in that order). I per...

Re: Who has the Panther for sale in Rockport?

I sure like my electric bill at the river house compared to the one here in Houston. My highest light bill ever down there was $38.00, temp staying 70-74* in the summer heat. Here is over $300 a month. And I ain't ever killed ducks or caught a redfish here  Don Our house in RP averages $90 i...

Re: Any fish in the back lakes (Rockport) ?

Life and times of cabin ownership. Sometimes I have wonder if it’s been worth it. I have been a owner for 19 years and before that I was a guest for a few years. The work never ends. I bet we have hauled 1000’s of 2x6x12’s over by boat. One year we had a 18 wheeler pull up to Cove Harbor full of bl...

Re: Who has the Panther for sale in Rockport?

Nesloney Sr has over 600 hours on his rig and it is around 80k for that boat. Yikes. He runs her hard, but no different than me and my tools at work, whatever it takes to pay the bills. My boat is parked in the first bay in shop and I walk around it everyday while working, makes me want to go fishi...

Re: Any fish in the back lakes (Rockport) ?

I am going to give it a shot this weekend. looking forward to just getting away to do some wading. Ya'll gonna be around the cabin in Allen's? Yes we should be around the cabin during the heat of the day to have a few cold ones / mixed in with very little work on the decks. The high tides a couple ...
