2nd Annual Brazos River Memorial Day Weekend Run

Postby Quackcephus » Sat May 30, 2009 2:39 am

I don't know if you'd call our 2nd Annual Brazos River Memorial Day Weekend run an event or not, but it was a great time none the less. One of our airboaters lives just below the dam at Lake Whitney and he & his wife are gracious enough to play host & allow us to camp & use their place as a make shift HQ. We also cooked out, bbq'ed, smoked & grilled a big brisket, a big ham and a pork tenderloin along with all the fixin's. All I know is that it was a great time as many lies were drank & many beers were told. All in all it was a great weekend on the Brazos River.

Nice! Just saw this post. I've driven over the damn at whitney about 8,000 times and always wanted to stop and check it out. Read Goodbye to a River twice but never have actually spent any time on the Brazos. It would be awesome to do something like that next year.

I hope to be there and met everyone. I will try to make a least one day this year. I enjoyed it last year and learned a lot about airboats as well. Thanks BARB bunch and Rusty

The yellow rig belongs to a fella name Dean... it's a direct drive Chevy 350. His screen name on SA is dean... shoot him a PM as he can tell ya a lot more how he's set up than I can.
