Don't think you can get in unless you are a member of camp or a guest of a camp. Also there is a yearly fee of 125.00 and full back ground check and finger prints. The fee is new this year I don't know if i'm gonna pay that much only go a few times a year. $$$$$ Makes me sick. Good luck

A WHITE MAN! A COWARD! MICCOSUCKEE DON'T OWN THE LAND BETWEEN THE ALLEY AND 41! THEY LEASE IT FOR $1.00 EVERY 99 YEARS! IN MY OPINION, WE SHOULD SET UP A ROAD BLOCK IN FRONT OF THIER RES., AND CHARGE EACH ON TO BE ON OUR LAND!!!!!!! THAT IS OF COURSE, AFTER THEY PASS OUR BACKGROUND CHECK! PERSONALL, I GOT NO USE FOR THE LAZY BASTA^%S, THEY'VE GOTTEN THE POINT OF EXPECTING EVERYTHING FOR FREE, THEY SHOULD HAVE THE SAME RULES AS THE REST OF US!!!! YES, I CALL MYSELF A WHITE MAN, AND A PROUD AMERICAN, I'M PROUD OF WHAT MY FLAG IS "SUPPOSED" TO STAND FOR, BUT THOUGHORLY ASHAMED OF WHAT BIG BROTHER HAS TURNED IT INTO! ANYONE WHO HAS TO PUT A PREFIX IN FRONT OF "AMERICAN" TO DESCRIBE THIERSELF, NEED TO LEAVE! I'M AN AMERICAN!! NOT A "NATIVE" AMERICAN, AN AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
It wasn't always that way. Think it was sometime in the eighty's that the land was given back. It is a shame that we can be kept out of one of the most beautiful places on earth. Just because they can.

Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
How about the fact that its 125 a year per guest to be finger printed and background checked just to go as a guest. Boat or not. And don't forget only 50 frogs allowed. No matter if you go out on state land and catch em and bring them back. Better not bring more than 50.

Paulj, The local natives lived a lot closer to the beach before they were pushed way out west.
The Church I attended growing up .Would take food and clothing out to the reservation.(early, mid 70's)
It was poverty out there.
But, they are getting there's now. Casino $$$$$
Takem all white man's money.

Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
It would seem the better course of business would be as with the casinos and allow permits as a profit center.
I really don't see airboaters doing any damage. In fact, I have to say that the airboating areas I've been in so far are very clean and debris free. I contrast that with some concerts and beaches I've been to!!
How many airboats are registered in South Florida or in Florida at large? If you put all of them together their density would be less than cars, bass boats, ocean boats, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, etc. In other words, airboats are one of the least dense and intrusive sports there is.
I was at Lake Istokpoga this weekend and the pontoon boats and bass boats had to outnumber the airboats 30 to 1.
Airboats may be noisy in comparison but out on the Miccosukee land who is going to be bothered by noise?!?!

Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1 ... 51,4553365Got to find out the facts but this also might have to do with a chief that killed a panther that was killing chickens and causing great concern for their children, and he was arrested [FWC] and jailed for a short time. I think some time in the mid 80s. Seems alot changed after that. And don't speed trough their reservation nice ticket is waiting. And if you get arrested on their land you go to south dade county jail.Had to get one my duma$$ employees out it was not a good experience. Times have changed get used to it.
Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
I was riding a motorcycle up West State Road 84 north off of I-75 and I was pushing it pretty good as those curves are great.
This Miccosukee Policeman was coming the other way and I know he had me on radar. He just flashed his lights like "I could get you good but slow down" and he went on by.
But I guess this kind of territorialism has been going on since humankind arrived on the planet. But I still think the Miccosukee's are making a bad business decision when they are repelling responsible folks. Why accept entrance fees to gambling and fees for goods and services at the Miccosukee Service Plaza but income from land only accessible by airboat is denied? The logic escapes me!

I saw this in the afternoon Palm Beach Post:

Maybe selling permits would be a good idea to help with the tax bill!

Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
I love how this went from someone asking how to get the permits to so much miss information. Like talking about B. Cypress getting arrested which has NO baring on the permits especially since he is Seminole and the permits asked about was for the Miccosucci tribe. Two totally different tribes which are not part of each other.

Re: Miccosukee Permit for Airboat
Well that is some discouraging news! Having just bought an airboat, I've been studying Google Earth and was excited to see so many trails between Tamiami Trail and Alligator Alley. Now I see I won't be able to ride in that area. Are airboats going the way of ATVs? 2A is a pretty large area but nothing compared to WCA 3. I'm seeing curfews, noise limits and shrinking use areas and wonder how much longer any areas will be available. What would happen to somebody if they were out there by accident? Looking at Google Earth, you could launch at any of the ramps along Alligator Alley, head south and never know you were in that area (unless there are signs at those ramps but I've seen many airboats launch out there).

All of that is not indian land. try and find some boundry maps and over lay them. More free ridable land than on the reservation....less cyress trees too.
