Roger's Auto Service in Fairbanks

Postby emmitt Kelly » Fri Sep 02, 2011 9:10 pm

Was wondering if they are still in business?

I was there in '99 my son-in-law and daughter were stationed at Fort Wainwright.

they would haul new Diamondbacks from Cocoa to Fairbanks in the summer....now that was a ride

Poor fellow was working on a new airboat in the freezing rain in September ...you got to be tough!!

I'm not sure if Mr. Redfern is still making the trip or not. Last time I was in Fairbanks he was at his cabin up the Salcha and I don't believe he was quite as active with selling boats. Dad made a friend out of him and set him up as a Panther dealer until Bud made him mad and he went to Diamondback. That's how I know of him. Very nice man and definitely who I would go to see about a boat if I lived there...

thanks for the response..

I did not remember the owner's name but He and Bobby were going hunting when I was up there.
they were good friends.

He did put somewhere near 500,000 miles on a Dodge/Cummins until he went with a tractor trailer hauling
Diamondbacks from Cocoa to Fairbanks...what a drive.

the area in and around Fairbanks is amazing... totally is another world up there..

Good man. His name is Roger Redfern.

Some of the best airboating in the world. You could probably put a couple everglades in the Big Marsh and that's only one of the places to go airboating up there...
