Welcome to Alaska Cherpa and crew

Postby akblackdawg » Mon Jul 08, 2013 2:27 pm

Paul Baily (aka Cherpa) and his crew arrived in Alaska over the 4th, and we were honered to take them out for a ride on the Knik River, to the Knik Glacier yesterday. Great bunch of people, also want to thank Troy (Critter Getter) for helping out with his boat on the run. We all had a great time inspite of cloudy cool day with blustry downriver winds. Bud

More pictures of the trip. Best thing about the trip is that it was uneventful. Nobody got mauled by a bear, nobody fell into the river and turned into a popcicle, no boats got stuck (except maybe some jet boats we saw), and no motor breakdowns or tows involved. Bud

Love reports of great times and good people all around. Nice lookin boats too. What, no bears? Whats a trip to Alaska without the chance to pet a Grizz or Polar Bear, polish a Moose's antlers, Comb out a Musk Ox, and milk a Mountain Goat ?

Now that's some awesome hospitality....and some though it was exclusive to southerners. Good going akblackdawg and Critter Gitter.
Hey Paul, did you have your drink with glacier ice?
Hello also to Bob, The Sarge and the rest of the family.
Some say that bucket list is getting shorter. I say, turn the page over and add some more items.
Have a great time and get back safely.

Yep, I forgot to mention that. Our long lunch at the glacier involved filling coolers with 5000 year old glacier ice, and mixing drinks with that same blue ice. They loved it. Bud

Great show of generosity for the crew up north! That's what our time here is about.

Akblackdog why are you posting pics like that. The only thing people need to know about alaska is that it is a god forsaken frozen wasteland and there is no reason to come up here. If you come up here you will freeze to death and nobody will ever find your remains. So just stay away and live your life happy and carefree where you are.
