Back when i duck hunted it was still legal. I havent duck hunted in many years.
I believe in doing what's "ethical" & would not do anything illegal
when it comes to wildlife. I am a avid fisherman & hunter, & don't do anything any of you
wouldn't.

Just sounded to me like your still using lead on private property. Sorry if I took it the wrong way. Steel shots been mandatory since the 1984-85 State wide if memory serves me correct. There was a year or two the coast was exempt, but I believe it was before '85.

what is sad is you got more kills with the lead and steel makes me get out there and run down the wounded bird. i don't hunt much fresh water but down here the ducks will go under and bite the grass and die never to be seen by you again red heads are bad about but pin tails do it to.use to have a lab that would stick his head under the water and run back and forth till he come up with the duck sure do miss that dog :(

Something about the saltwater makes them act like a redfish after being shot.. Or is a case of duck and cover.. Boo I know

i like my Remington Nitro Steel 3" #2 out of my 870. liked my dad's old Wingmaster better, you could hit a bird a mile away with that long barrel on it!

Winchester Expert 3" #2's on the coast with the open bays and heavy winds. They are the cheapest best way to go in my opinion.

Funny that long barrels don't have anything to do much with patterns, energy or MV in the end, but that long barrel makes up for a major flaw that a lot of folks have, not following through.. once you get a long(heavy) barrel moving its hard to stop it.

Anyone shoot the Rem 1700 plus FPS stuff yet? I;ve talke to a few folks that say its a killer.

I swear I HAVE to make myself start reloading before next fall and pattern until I get what I want... but each year I swear, and then buy a case of shells... heck 10 bucks or so ain't so bad....
