Diamondback 380??

Post by jinotown » Fri Apr 09, 2010 10:17 am

Is the Diamondback 380 actually available yet? Where can I look at and/or buy one? Any feedback vs the Ruger LCP? I would rather support one of our own..

I can't compare it to that Ruger, but I can say it breaks down almost EXACTLY like a Glock, I saw a blown up diagram of one and it is very very similar (which is not a bad thing, I love glocks) Very small, good concealed gun. I have only looked at them though, not shot any. I had my hands on one at GTO, they had them in stock. I am sure there are plenty of other places. Again I can't compare it to that Ruger, but I have referred to it as a small glock to some friends. Id say it is worth taking a look at.

I saw it in a magazine. Don't remember who publishes it but it is their auto pistols buyers guide. One of those deals where they have a few feature articles on some guns and then a bunch of pages listing guns and price. I know there are a whole lot of guns that didn't make the magazine. Don't know what the criteria was to get in there but it made it in the listing section.
Many could live on what we have wasted.

I bought one of these little babies last week. Great feel, excellent trigger, basically a dwarf glock. However, after shooting it, i realized that it performed nothing like a glock. Put 40 rounds through it, with 40 failures. Never ejected a single round. I had to manually eject every shot. Striker hit 4 or 5 without firing. Finally, the trigger malfuncioned and basically would not release the sear engagement or something like that. I really really liked the feel of the gun and the trigger. However, if it won't shoot, i won't carry it. I hear there is a factory fix for the sear engagement problem but I already traded it in for a Ruger LCP....no failures with 50 rounds. Hopefully DB fixes this problem cause I know this is not the product quality they intended.

Why would you spend more for the diamondback when the tried and true ruger lcp is way cheaper?

for the some of the same reasons i pay 1200 for a kimber instead of 700 for a taurus, cause the DB felt better in my hands and had a waaaaay better trigger. plus, the similar action of a Glock. but, it turned out to be an expensive paper weight. i did end up with the Ruger and my money back though.
