AR-15?

Postby kajunoutlaw » Wed Dec 19, 2012 9:04 pm

I saw on ET earlier that Whoopi Goldberg was referring to an AR 15 as a WMD! I would consider a nuclear warhead as a WMD not an AR.

Am I wrong in thinking this way?

Guys, we still have Core 15 rifles available in the GTO retail gun store. We also have other brands of AR-15 rifles available. The Core 15 rifles are allocated to all the dealers and the Core15 guys are building them round the clock trying to keep up with demand right now. Rifles are being sold on a first come first serve basis. We are also running low on cases of .223 ammo also, but we are expecting another shipment before the end of the year. If you guys want to know what is in stock give us a call. If the gun shop is busy, ask for me or Dwayne, we will help you find what you are looking for.

Well, that is just another fine example of celebrities and the media blowing things out of proportion. Granted, I don't own an AR and have no intentions of ever owning one. But, I'm not against any of you guys or any other law abiding sane person owning one. I'm starting to get a little worried that we as sportsman who hunt, just may lose our way of life. Not all at once, but a little at a time.

Only problem with doing that is that you don't have any warranty, and not all accessories will fit.

Tony I have done a ton of research on AR stuff. The Colt 6920 is the bread and butter of AR stuff. High quality and low maintenance. There
are many fine brands out there but with Colt you WILL not be disappointed. $1000 is a good deal. If you wanted to go higher end I like the Daniel Defense stuff.
But Colt will hold its value and always run.

The barrels I use are lifetime warranty. The rest of the parts I use are top of the line and name brand from reputible companies. You buy a 500.00 melonited barrel chances are your not going to wear it out ( I shoot alot) buy 120.00 barrel you shoot as much as I do your throwing it in the trash. Most accesories are compatible if you know what you have. There are some nice manufactured guns out there but when you can save 300.00 or more doing it urself whynot. Good parts dont break. I like working on guns and assembling them. Its a hobby, just like airboating.

Even the hunters need to keep attentive! The comment was combat weapons, unless you go back to the natives with bows, all firearms were invented for combat, not hunting. A lot of hunting weapons of today are used in combat. Remington and benelli shotguns, pistols, Remington 700 rifles! We all got to pay attention. My boys pellet rifles do the same damage to the paper as my AR, so we need to pay attention! Close attention

Yes that is my point. The saying goes, "kids that hunt, don't do drugs and steal." I grew up doing it, and am passing it on to my kids. Its the father/son time that means more to me than anything. Its a common thread with me and my sons.

I have a pre 94 clinton assault weapons ban colt competition H bar and a shorty bushmaster that i bought a extra dpms upper with 16" bull barrel. Never had a problem with any of them. The dpms upper is a tack driver. Having said that if I had the 1k would get the colt. Hope the info helps and good luck. Mitch

People are going nuts in the gun stores! I was in one today and a couple of guys bought every AR mag they had! If you can land your hands on any you better buy what you can! My buddy owns a pawn shop and he called several distributors to order Ar15s and he couldn't get one. A lot of dealers aren't selling any guns because their holding out for higher prices. The shop I was at today had two LE6920 Colts left, Yesterday the price was $1146. Today they were $1249. By the time I left the shop they were sold! :rebel: Oh yea, try finding AR mags right now!

Tony, if you can get a colt, get it. I have fired hundreds of thousands of rounds through colts and they have never let me down one of the reasons I am hear today. S&W15, knights, and h&k are some other good one. I love my 416, but the price tag on those is crazy. The guns above I personally have fired tons of rounds through, that's why I recommend them. Today I read about the core 15 and the DB m4, just because I was thinking about getting another 1 and supporting the airboat family, but I have a problem buying guns that I have not used before, or tested.

I'm left handed too, Pup .... but my right eye is my dominant eye. I shoot right.

Yeah, pointing at something with both eyes open, closing one at a time, whichever still has finger pointing at object is your dominant eye? I think that's what your talking about?

Yup, that's it. Even though I'm left handed, my finger point moves over quite a bit with my left eye. Dead on with the right.
