My wife and I both harvested GA bucks last year using the Silver State Armory 5.56 70gr tsx bullets. Both were one shot shoulder kills. The larger buck was 200 lbs while the smaller buck tipped the scales at 140 lbs. Both bucks were taken at 120 yards and were DRT!! I highly recommend these bullets. Stag AR15 Model 6 1/8 twist 24" barrel. :rebel:

That Silver State TSX 70 grain round is a very long (1.037) bullet Kwan, may not work real well in shorter barrel platforms.
Your gun at 24 inches is set up like a match gun it sure gave you great results.

It is all about the twist Swamp. My 14.5" & 16" 1:7 twist barrels love the heavier grain bullets.

Swamp I bought the stag to compete in the 600 yard matches at a local gun club - great shooting platform!!

It will bust a deer, hog, coyote, etc with no problem!!

As a side note I did buy the wife a Sig 400 from wallymart last year to hunt with!! She loves it!! :toothy7: :rebel:

I am up on the twist Mud. The issue with the Barnes 70 is it is lighter and longer than most match rounds and loaded very hot. Check out AR15.com you will see a few threads guys posted. Great round just not for every gun. Best for a 20 inch plus so projectile is stable and all the powder burned.

I am very meh on the 300aac. The ballistics are underwhelming to say the least. Now the 6.5 grendel. That is the optimum cartridge for the ar15 platform imo. Very surprised it hasn't caught on.

Highly recommend Midwest industries low profile 15" hand guards w/ flip up iron sights and a vortex strike fire sight. It is an equal to the aim point comp me Rex dot for less than half the price. Also avoid muzzle brakes at all costs. They suck. Any reduction in felt recoil, which is minimal to begin with, is lost in the horrific muzzle blast.

There is a guy on here that uses a 300 with a night scope and suppressor to patrol agricultural property and it works well for that purpose. I would not want one unless it was to suppress.

Hey guys sportsman's guide has used Vietnam colt m-16 parts kits for 449.00$ everything but barrel, receiver, and disconnector witch all can be bough online. and if you join the buyers club for 29.00 dollars a year I think you get better prices and they will send it to you and bill you in 4 monthly payments they also have ak-47 and other guns and ammo ,and food. you name it they got. just got a Slide Fire from them for one of my AR, my son and I have shot my legal full auto M-16 and my AR with the slide fire on it side by side and we both empty a 30 round (clip or magazine whatever you want to call it) at the same time. ( slide fire no paper work no hassle) and legal. :rebel:

I went on GUNBROKERS auction over the weekend and worried my laptop to death but I finally got a deal,,, I got a complete CMMG flat top upper, 16 in. 1-7 twist, 556, 223,,,

Won the auction for 366 dollars,,, I was surprised,,,

I should have bought the 556 last week, but I got the 223 instead,,, So now I will just build the 223 later on,,,

We wont have Night Vision this weekend at the Hog Shoot, but the hogs will let you drive up pretty close as long as you are on a tractor,,,

My friend has about 4000 acres under plow, and he has all of these huge JD tractors with lights all over them, and we are planning on letting the hogs get out there in the field, rooting and eating peanuts, we we are gonna drive as close as we can, open the doors, and just put a waylaying on them rooters,,,

My friend is wanting to get a Sig Saur, AR-15,,, He was asking me about them, and I dont know anything,,, So I looked on Google and they seem the be "The Sheet",,, But expensive,,,

Anybody got any thing good or bad to say about them, before he buys one???

Slide safe my friends,,,

X2 My next class III purchase will be a SBR 300 and a can. That to me is the only reason for 300 blackout.

Not sure why he wants a Sig when he can get a Colt!

A lot of guys get messed up thinking the cheaper Sig AR15 is a piston gun but it is NOT! It is a direct impingment AR variant, the Sig 556 is a piston gun and that is the SHIZT but a little front heavy, and lot more $. I have a new 556 Sig unfired in the box that could be for sale.

I was up at GTO this morning and anyone looking for a deal on an AR need to run, not walk up there. They had 2 AR15's that were Shot Show demo guns and priced to sell. They were M4 type builds 16 inch chrome lined with flash hiders in pretty nice shape for $669 with the carry handle. They told me they still had the lifetime warranty so there you go!

Well the AR 15 that I just built (put together) performed flawlessly,,, I love my Red Dot,,,

My friend said that they had to go ahead and start shooting the hogs, the hogs were following the Planter Tractor, a few rows over,,,

They shot into the Hogs 3 differant times during last week, so the hogs were real spooky when I got there Sat. night,,,

I only killed 3,,, A big Sow and 2 Shoats,,, But I still had a blast,,, Good times were had by all,,,

Another great adventure in the books,,,

The Slide stock was here waiting on my when I got home Friday night,,,

No problems attaching it,,, Worked like a Champ,,,

I was amazed at the fact that you can put 30 rounds in a target in about 3 seconds,,, My nephew was timing it with a stopwatch,,,

ALL in the black sillowette (spelling) of a Man from waist up, at 50 yards,,,

I wont waste bullets again like I did this weekend,,,

It is alot more fun to shoot 3 or 4 rounds burst, than it is just to hang on to it and shoot 30 or 40 at a target,,,

But I had a new toy and I wanted to play with it,,, So I did,,,

Love the Slide Stock,,, Would recommend it to anyone who loves to smell Gunpowder,,,

The smell of Gunpowder, It is a Sickness, I know, I have a bad case of it,,,
