The lastest from the Supreme Court

Postby Deano » Mon Jun 20, 2016 10:40 am

This was not the result that many were hoping for, but I guess
should be no big surprise to whoever has been paying attention.

This only goes to show the prelude of what could possibly follow the coming election.

The next POTUS could feasible make enough appointments to further shape/reshape the Court.
This only goes to show that supporters of The Founding Fathers are already starting at a deficit.

While the case does involve guns, this is more about state rights than gun control. However, the SCOTUS is not being consistent since gay marriage is/was a state rights issue when their rule of law was usurped by making gay marriage the law of the land. This ruling could very well go in another state's favor should they choose to allow assault weapons; unless there becomes a federal ban on such. That ban would not be enacted by the SCOTUS. It could only happen legislatively. Your point regarding the future makeup of the court is correct and probably the most important issue of this election cycle, bad hair days and fugly pantsuits aside.
