My new Ultralight Hunting rifle

Postby Sniper » Wed Jul 06, 2016 9:39 am

Just got done putting this rifle together and I real happy with the way it came out, I started with a Savage Ultra light hunter chambered in 6.5 Creedmoore, then installed a MDT LSS chassis with and Ace butt stock and topped it with Talley light weight rings and a Swarovski Z3 3x10x42 scope,I am really amazed on how well it shoots some how Savage engineering the gun to still be accurate even after the barrel gets screaming hot and with that pencil then barrel, it does not take a lot of rounds for it to get that way, I was expecting for the groups to walk around when that happened but it has not, I have had no problem shooting dime sized 5 rnd groups at 100 yrds with it so need less to say I am very happy in what I put together, looking to go take care of some Coyotes and hopefully a nice Buck with it this year

The rifle with wood stock was 5.5 lbs now that its done and its in the new chassis with scope and is complete
ready to go I'm going to weigh it today and see what it is but its still very light but the big thing is now its an
all weather rifle now and still light

That's a nice optic for sure! Swarovski really has the coatings perfected, it is like night and day with the ability to filter twilight. My experience is much better low light spectrum of the greens and browns even far superior to Leupold.

I just put this AR together, probably will mount a fixed 4 power on it and add a few KeyMod points. It is my first KeyMod rail but it came in the deal. They are a little pricey compared to the standard quad but you can really fine tune the ergonomics with it where the quad is one of 4 vertical lines.

I never really studied the 6.5 Creedmor but it has some impressive results with reaching out. Read about a fellow named Ray Sanchez who with a Tubb 2000 bolt gun was reporting MOA at 1,000 yards, that is almost beyond belief. Learn something every day!

I work in the shooting industry when I'm not doing my LE job so I was given most of the components for a greatly reduced price
it was done to look at it to possibly be a production rifle by the manufactures of the components if that happens I'm figuring the rifle less the glass would be in the 1000 + range MSRP

The way things keep going, you're going to need that gun for hunting something bigger than deer.

its a shame people in this country can't control there emotions any better and just let the justice system do its job
people Die in mistakes every day Doctors kill thousands of people every year in Medical mistakes, soldiers kill their
comrades in friendly fire accidents all the time, it's all about using good judgement and that does not always happen
if people will just calm down and let things be investigated and then the guilty hopefully will pay for their mistake but
of course if your Hillary that won't be the case

Your old hunting outfit looks like the Ruger "can't remember the designation". Highly accurate but in the 14# weight outfitted ?
That's a lot to carry around in the woods, but the ultimate tac-driver.
