Keaton is some of the best red fishin' on the Gulf Coast IMO. Love it over there.

Thanks, We were thinking of coming from Georgia in May . A friend of mind that lives in Live Oak told me about this spot.

One of my favorite spots. You will enjoy that area.

Be prepared to put in dry if tide is low. Great place to ride once in. Grassey Island is great place for the Kids to swim and meet other airboaters. Grassey is about two miles south of Hagans cove. There is a county boat ramp about a mile or so north of Hagan Cove turn off further north is Keaton Beach county ramp.
There is a kayak and canoe trail along the coast. Be alert for them they don't fly flags like we have to.
Have a Great Day,

What are some of the best baits for the area? Ole country boy used to fishing in the swamps has no idea of what to use in y'all's part of the world.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Looking at putting in on Dallus creek.

New penny colored gulp shrimp,or pearl colored gulp shrimp. For top water, use the rapala skitterwalk ssw11 that looks like a mullet. I use the gulp on a jighead under a popping cork.

Thanks Sneaky,

Me and one of my retired buddies are going down in a couple of weeks and try it out for the weekend. Is it better on incoming or outgoing tide?
