First Airboat

Post by timbercreek » Thu Jan 07, 2016 10:31 pm

Hey guys I'm new to the site and I'm picking up my first airboat tomorrow. My name is Tyler Cruitt from Opelika AL. I own Timber Creek Boats. We build custom duck boats. I finally decided to buy an airboat after many years of wanting one. I thought about building one from the ground up but would rather buy one and learn about them before I decided to build one. Would be great to get to know some of you fellas. If y'all do any riding on lake Seminole let me know. We have a big mud boat poker run every summer over there and Every year we get more mud boats and a few more airboats. Wish me luck!!

Might want to contact Paul and Carol Dixon just outside Bainbridge GA. They own Airboats Unlimited and build Seminole airboats. They also ride Lake Seminole with a group of locals. Outstanding folks!!!

Welcome to the addiction. There are quite a few locals that are on Seminole every weekend. I have family there and go as often as I can. I'll be down the weekend of the 23rd if you wanna ride. Just pm me and we'll meet up.

Welcome Tyler. Nice boat you bought. You're gonna have a blast in it. Have fun and be safe.
I saw your duck boats on the website and they look real sturdy.

Thanks guys! I took it today and all I can say is WOW! I love it! It bounces pretty bad in the deep water. Next time I'll have a cooler on the grass rake and tools for an emergency in the front hatch. I wasn't able to open it up all the way but while running the creek I had a big enough stretch to see 61. My GPS may not have been 100% accurate but I was moving on for sure. Maybe after this rain it won't be freezing tomorrow and I can take it out and get some more time in the seat! I'm officially ADDICTED
