sensenich NGQ

Postby gig_em13 » Tue May 20, 2014 10:21 pm

I just bought a NGQ new from sensenich for my close to stock 350 SBC and I put it on the number 2 pitch mark only got 2200 rpms moved it to number 1 and got 2600 it pushes really good on the grass but I haven't water tested it yet so should I try to swap to the ngh or can I put a little under the number 1 mark? Any help is appreciated!!

Yes u can go under one. But I would see how it ran in water. First it may run great and get great fuel mileage there.

I am spinning a 70 inch Q with a 0320 H2AD (160 hp) at just under the 2 mark at 2700. Pushes very good and has nice cruise at 1800 to 1900 rpm. Over 4 miles per gal. You might want to back off a little and spin it to 3000 rpm. It you are not happy then asked prop dealer to left you try another prop. The good thing is its moving on the ground. The 70 inch Q on the H2AD, has more push than my Chev 400 and 72 inch 5 blade warp drive (direct drive)

I bought the 70 inch NGH then up graded to the Q. The NGH had quick responce, less push and higher cruise, good luck

Deep sea , the Q is not an up grade from the NGH.

You never mentioned the size of the prop?

I am spinning a 76 inch NGQ direct drive on my Caddy, the boat is a 16ft ride boat that is heavy as a tank. The push that prop generates around 2400 is awesome. I would try it on the water and see but my guess is you will only come up about 50 or a 100 rpm. That's what mine did but every engine and boat are different.

The 2 pitch mark on a Q blade is different than the 2 pitch mark on the NGQ, they are completely different blade designs and the RPM's are different with the same pitch mark set. We find that we set most NGQ props between 1 1/2 and 2, depending on length of the prop and the type and HP of the engine. My advise would be to test it as you have it set to see if it performs good, I think it will.

I was at the river last week and a buddy tried to climb BS Hill and got stuck at the bottom. He's got a lazer with a spacer jug 300 , poly and a 74" Q. He was doing circles on the flat ground. I come through there with 4 on the boat still blipping the gas with the Ol NGQ right to the top.

May I suggest trying to up the HP/torque of your 350 motor instead of going lower..?? it may be a more viable option?

I'd run boat first. Doesn't really matter what rpm it turns as long as it runs good

I've had one for 15 or 16 years on two motors. No crank problems yet

Yep....and as far as poly butter....I tried it cause it was gave to me. I wouldn't give one red cent for it. It doesn't help one bit in the nasty sticky green. Just ask sidejobs or fl cracker...they both tried it and said the same thing. But to each his own...
