Trying to decided on what prop
I'm trying to decided on a new prop to go with..... I have a spacer jug injected 540 with 11to1 compression, I just had a sabor blade break off close to the hub for no rhyme or reason so it has me scared of them small blades now..... So I'm looking for something diff, my motor loves high rpms, it doesn't make any power when you choke it down to 2750 2800, she likes singing around 3000 or so. So with that being said I'm open for opinions, keep in mind the is gonna be a ride boat not a race boat..... So I need some good push, I will go with any prop maker I'm not set on a particular company!!!! Thanks in advance......

Re: Trying to decided on what prop
Maybe one of the prop gurus will chime in cause my understanding of the NGQ is that it's much for high rpms....... Which where I make a lot of my power.... Cause when I choked my motor down to 2750 on the trailer it was a dog @ the lake......

Pretty simple decision. If the motor has balls put a 76" NGQ, 12" wide your not gunna find better low end grunt than that.

Billy if it was me I'd say either a 3-blade NGH or a 2-blade NGQ . I bet your boat would run great with either or... Get with terry he will set you up in the right direction.

Re: Trying to decided on what prop
You can also think about the Excalibur if your scared of the smaller blades. The shank size is bigger than the sabers but smaller than the big blades. They also have a core composite structure. You can spin them on up a little more. Stroked470 just put one on a nasty AV 540...See what he thinks of his.

Re: Trying to decided on what prop
well let me make it a little clearer, love the power it has hate that none handleing little hull & the ole lady hated it to so decided to change it up a little, the boat runs great fast as all get out but that hull is entirely way to thin for the riding i like to do & didnt realize it when i was lookin @ the boat. I makin it into more of a ride boat with a rank ass motor & not the race boat set up that it is......Bruce wrote:if u love it why u changin it that boat runs goodSkinnerBack wrote:Yes sir that the one i bought!!! Try a 4 blade Excalibur ! As bwhite stated they are larger than the sabers. They love 3000 rpm and I'm extremely satisfied with mine.

Re: Trying to decided on what prop
I have a spacer jug av 540. Just went from a 6 blade warp to a 3 blade q. The q has more low end but damn loud, I already had a mullet in the prop and it did some damage, the warp would have had no damage, all in all I see little improvement. The q is not as smooth for sure. My girl friend really hates the q noise.
