Testing the 68" NGQ on a SV 540? Is the 72" NGQ too much on a SV?

Thanks for the info terry....I am currently running a 69" wide blade whisper tip (set at 12 1/2 on the B scale @ 2900) and like I said "always looking for a little more for my ol 200" and I have some buddies that really like the NGQ on their 540's. but they were swinging Q's not WW wide blade

I just ran my 68 inch ngq today for the first time today and loved it. Little more bottom and alot more top than the old q. I ran my old q set on 2.5 at 2950 wot and cruised at 2200!! The ngq I had to back down to 1.5 and ran 2850 wot and cruised at 1800-1900. Terry was the man to deal with, I didnt demo one I just bit the bullet and bought , super happy with it!!

Bruce is right on target with the Q, when you turn it more than 2800 rpm's all your doing is lowering thrust and making extra noise.LSX1

So I take it the new NGQ would be too much for an H2AD? I'm running a 68" Q. Has good push down low but falls on its face up high. I was leaning towards giving the NGH a try but was recently told that somebody put an NGQ on their boat and would never go back to the NGH. What do you think, Terry? I've got an 11' Don Davis with DOM rigging; real light boat.

I was told there was a diff between the 4 and 6 cylinder NGQ? The standard is 12" wide and 68" is around 10 1/4".

The 6 cyl NGQ is 12" and the 4 cyl prop is 11 1/8" at the widest spot.

that's some info I was interested in right there...the width..... to compare with my ww which is 10 3/4"......I had a 70" psr ww on a short sensenich hub I believe it measured 11 1/2" wide and was imo on my engine the best prop I had ever turned but they recalled the psr blades and I replaced them with the wt wide blade and hub but it has never been quite as good and I always thought it was because of the lack of width of the blade or the weight of the hub or both maybe im wrong but there was a definite difference at least on my setup.................also what length hub is used on the 68" NGQ???
