NGQ

Post by 99blackdually » Sat Jul 18, 2015 5:28 pm

Has anyone tried a 66" or 68" ngq on a 200 lycoming? What are the results?

That's what I have been hearing about these props. I can not fit that big of one and I am surprised a 200 will spin one that big. What about cruise and top end?

Im building a 200 Angle Valve right now. I have been running a 180 and have a Water Walker Cypress Series Right now. My question is this, Are you running a 2 blade or a 3 blade NGQ? I am considering going with the 3 blade Short Bladed NGQ with it to try it out. Has anyone tried this blade setup on a 200 Angle Valve? And if so, how did it respond? Im trying to figure out whether to go with the 2 blade or the 3 blade. But I have about settled on the NGQ blades. The short blades are an inch thinner than the long blades.

I love the cypress, It does great on the 180. However Im not sure whats going to happen when I finish the upgrade to the 200. That's why im asking about the different prop. I am currently running a 70 inch turning about 2700 RPMs on the trailer, about 2800 on the water.

I'm running the 68" NGQ on our Lycoming O-360 200hp boat, it works very well, good push low end and all around, not the fastest prop I've had on the boat, but the best pushing by far.

I'm running a 2 blade, tried the 3 blade in a 68" diameter but it was too much prop for the 200, I also tried the 3 blade 68" and a 3 blade 70" NGQ on our 540 boat, and I found that the 2 blade NGQ performs better on our 540 boat then the 3 blade version did, if you have the room swing a longer prop if possible the 74" & 76" dia out performed the 72" slightly on the ground

Ok, sounds about right, I advise no 3 blade props on O-540 anyway, seen fractured cranks from them. Will be in touch soon need an oil cooler.
