ngq what size to buy?
I have a 72 inch water walker now decided I am going to buy a ngq but dont know what length is best? I plan to set it at max 2750 rpm I have room to go a bit longer if needed.
Re: ngq what size to buy?
Diameter trumps pitch. Go as big as your cage will allow you to still sleep good.
The only logical reason for not doing so would be a lack of power. You got no problem there.

I agree if you can swing a 74" I'd go with that

With the customer service they have, I say meet them at the water and try everything you can fit.

Why not 74? My prop now is a water walker 72 and it's over pitched I'm turning between 2750 to 2800Tony480 wrote:Better stick with the 72 with a 220

That prop ain't 12" wide. I'd stick with the 72 as well!

My prop is 12 inch. At the widest point. I will double check but I did this once before. 72 inch water walker series ?fl cracker wrote:That prop ain't 12" wide. I'd stick with the 72 as well!
Re: ngq what size to buy?
He reported in a different thread that the ones he is over spinning are 12" wide.
Never did determine what blades they are as far as I know. My guess would have
been PowerPlus blades based on his description, but I wouldn't have thought he
would be over spinning those, either.
My earlier post was based on what was previously reported and
and that his 220 would seem to be far and away healthier than most.

Re: ngq what size to buy?
The motor is pretty fresh. It's pretty strong and high compression. Has a jetted holley 500. Just double checked and it does measure 11 inches not 12. What prop would that be? Frustrating crap so you think 70 inch? You see how over proped it is now. I did run 4 adults through some nasty crap and dry with no issues. I guess maybe 240 hp possibly a bit more. Sorry for the confusion the first time I measured it was at night. A buddy rode in it and commented that he thought it was around 250 hp he has a lot mo expeirence then me but I have a hard time believing it would put out that much. It's .030 dome top pistons with a bit of a flat on them to lower compression.
Re: ngq what size to buy?
Then that makes more sense. That means they are Signature blades, and at 72" that would mean it is a medium hub.
I have a set of Power Plus blades that are 12" wide and I believe would be 74" in that hub.
If you want to come down here and try them, I'll make you a real deal if you like how they run.
They will take more to turn, but they will give you more push and that's what you're after.

I need to get a quiet prop. But thank you. I know they are not cheap but a ngq is quiet that's what I need. I am going to sell this prop cheap cause I dont need it sitting in my shop.Deano wrote:Then that makes more sense. That means they are Signature blades, and at 72" that would mean it is a medium hub.

I'm looking to get a new prop. I was running a 72"Q. Thinking about going with a NGQ. What would be the best size for a stock 220 ground power

Re: ngq what size to buy?
Chris, sell your Q blades and buy the 68" NGQ blades which should be 72" in your medium hub.

I will know in a few weeks I have been working sick hours at work and just finished up my boat. The good I found avgas 3.43 gallon.
Re: ngq what size to buy?
My hub is 9.5" so I will need to get a different hub to make the NGQ a 72" right.
