o-470 72" H series 2 blade questions

Postby dmm92 » Tue May 16, 2017 6:39 pm

o-470 72" H series 2 blade pushing an 11'6" hull. I'm wondering if there are better options (boat feels gutless at times), I've got a feeling that this isn't enough prop for the motor. Any advise / what should I try switching to? Thanks in advance! Image

What is the estimated horsepower of your engine?

Water Walker Signature:
2 blade 70 inch is for 220 HP = 110 HP per blade @ 70 inch
2 blade 72 inch is for 260 HP = 130 HP per blade @ 72 inch
2 blade 74 inch is for 300 HP = 150 HP per blade @ 74 inch
This is all based on turning the prop 3000 rpm.

Yes, Jeff is steering you in the right direction. .. :thumbleft:
With a 72" Signature on that hull, if it remotely felt gutless it would be time to call a mechanic.

That H will push after he's wound up, those Signatures will start pushing closer to fat third throttle.
My 472 has a 72" Signature on a 15' Rivermaster. Your 11'6" ought jump right on top of the water.

I would say a 3 rd blade for your H series or get 2 NGQ or Signature blades for the Hub you have.

Try and borrow some Q blades and try that. If looking to buy new, try a Whirlwind Excaliber.

Q series blades put in your same hub will be your best option for better overall thrust and reduced prop sound.

I was running an NGH on my 0470 as a carry over from my 0320, boat ran fine but needed push. NGH felt fine at high rpm. I went to NGQ blades and it sure made a difference in all around performance for the better for sure.
