Same question as above: is this the 3 blade JR or JX outperforming the 4 blade NGR?

In each scenario, the 3 blade proto outperforms a 4 blade counterpart.

Does anyone have any feedback or experience with the J series to comment on this performance information?

Has anyone actually lost a blade and gone to a 3 blade from a 4 blade setup?

4 blade JX here and I wouldn't change it. That coming from a 3 blade NGR. The NGR is agreat prop also. Jus Sayn! Luv me some JX at 800hp on its ass will push hard down low and fly up top.

Well, I'm going to find out how well a 3 blade 80" JX setup will work on my rig because I plan on ordering it this week.

If u have over 500hp I don't think you will be disappointed. I also am a believer in prop rpm over pitch unless your boat is a tractor and not concerned with speed.

I couldnt be happier with my 80"jx 2 blade,,,450hp sbc 237 box ,,pitch set on 20degrees goes anywhere i want with my 4 people family

WES what are the degree ranges with that hub?

Is 20 pitched hard ?

Not real sure how the sticker relates to actual degrees but it appears the 20 mark is relevant to the old way of the 2 mark. Should be the sweet spot for both pitch and rpm with a 2.38 box.

Wes, what is your cruz rpm with the 2 blade if ya don't mind sharing that?

At 20 degrees im turning 5200 rpm wot ,13'6 hammant ,im cruising right around 3100 with 4 people deep water or course

I prefer a good balance of low cruz rpm, low rpm push, high rpm push and top speed. Sounds jus like the way you have it set. If you changed it what you gain in the upper rpms you will loose on ur cruz rpm which is where 50% of the run time is anyways. It would be good info to change ur setup to a 3 blade with ur box a 2.55 and a 2.68 and compare numbers with ur hp for the JX. I would like to know if 400/450 hp would give good numbers with the JX 3 blade. I know the 3 blade NGR works well with that hp range.

I have 3 blade 82" JX with alittle over 500hp SBC and love it.

I don't know about the carmotor J-series but I just put a 2 blade 76" JW on my AV540 and that sucker will hunt.
Set @ 14 mark turning 2750 with a cruise of 1500 in skinny and 1700 otherwise, great match for the AV 540.
