A great airboating pioneer has left us today

Post by Okeechobee Cur » Thu Feb 26, 2009 3:32 am

Today is a said day in my home.My wife and I had to tell are children that God has taken there papa to heaven. Its not just a said day for use its a said day for the airboating community.People that new him can tell you that he was a God giving man a proud man he dedicated his whole life to the everglades and lake Okeechobee. He has been a proud member of Okeechobee airboat club Paid his dews even though he was unable to ride any more.He was my hero and the hero to my sons and daughters.A proud member of the American legion.I will miss his smile and his laugh. The last things we spoke about when i left Okeechobee was You got that boat running yet.To see his smile when my wife put a big plate of legs in front of him he would sit there and tell me story's in between bytes about how back in the day the would hunt lake park marsh and the glades big cypress and others places.Papa you will be missed.Every time i ride from this day on i no that you will be riding with me.Rest in peace Paul Fournier AKA Peg Leg [7-28-33 ][2-25-09]

My condolences, brother. One of the hardest things you will ever have to go through.
May God Bless you and yours . . . . .

Many of the Real Airboaters are leaving us now.
Sorry to hear of your loss. Know how it feels.
Keep on sliding, and doing him proud.
He will be with you.

Slide on easy Mr Paul
