This is how you know it's cold

Post by BoHawg »

Got up at 4 and headed to the boat ramp to go duck huntin'. Launched the boat and tried to crank it only to find out, the throttle cable was frozen. I put the Q beam on it for about thirty minutes, didn't do a thing. I went to spray some wd 40 in it and couldn't even get the wd 40 to spray until I shook the can for a few minutes. Again, didn't even budge the cable. That's why I'm home tellin' y'all instead of killin' ducks.

That's how you know it's cold.

Better store the pressure washer indoors if it is not damaged by now. Water in the head can split it out, especially if it is one of those plastic turbo spinning heads. I had to replace one a few years ago. Also you need to drain the pump if it is freezing, the water will freeze and expand it and crack the pump housing. Not something you would necessarly think of down there, but I blow my pressure washer out with compressor in the fall and anytime I happen to use it during the winter, which isn't very often. Hope this was your lucky day. Bud

-2 or -5 ystdy morning, (western kansas) depending which thermometer you looked at. Step outside, and you know you are alive. WE were lucky. No wind. Don't get much better than this. :)

We missed the big snow storm they got south of us in Oklahoma City. 14" in one storm I heard.

My folks live in Louisiana. Pops told me it was 39 there the other morning. he also said it was to cold to go croppie fishing. Guess he ain't that mad at em.

Last night it was -20 up here in Nebraska then it went up to 3 today but we are only going to drop off to -4 tonight and this is not the wind chill. I wanted to work on my cage but it is under a 5 foot snowbank.... :bigsmurf: :bigsmurf:

NE AL. sat we were in the low teens with a 10 to 12 mph breeze . the wind chill on the news was 0 to + 6. with the sun shinning in the middle of the day it got up to 22
it was snowing (dusting) again in the middle of the night. this morning the wind chill (15mph) is so cold its like razor blades nicking you in the face .

I was thinking I was tired of winters and needed to bring the airboat on a 3,000 mile roundtrip to Florida to warm up. Glad I stayed home...

Now who were the guys on SA that told me that they just use water as a coolant because here in Florida it never gets that cold. Hope they drained their CM boats several days ago...

Stay warm everyone.
If I would have known the air was so thin here, I would have bought more blades...
