Gardener Marsh

Postby Leg Man » Mon Aug 23, 2010 5:53 am

It's been a while since I have run the marsh, but it has been raining a lot out that way. Is it wet enough to run? Thanks for any info.

We ran thru there Saturday and there was a little water in the trail. It was my first time there so not sure how much is normally in there. Was a great ride. :bounce:

Our house at Port hatchineha saw 6"+ from Wed to Sunday last week. Will know more closer to the weekend. Water still flowing out of the locks, they can draw her down ALOT in the 2 weeks. Praying the rain continues and they shut the locks, if they let it down where it was 2 weeks ago, and the rain stops, we will be in for a bad water level for hunting season.

I appreciate all the input. Like I said, been a while since my last ride over there. I spend more of my time on the St. John's when I can get away from workin so much. Still "new" to air boating, not new to hunting the marsh, and really enjoy my boat since getting it last summer. Been building my hunting cabin at Bull Creek since May and need a break!!!

Here's a few of spots we frequent. The marsh is a big circle encompassing all of these points. (give or take) :rebel:

Rumor has it Steve Reid will be out Saturday

kwanjangnihm, Thank you for the map and coordinates. I would like to find square pond, can you post the coordinates for it? Should i assume its a "square shaped pond"? When I look on Google Earth, i doesn't look like I expect it to be.

Here's the path we generally run from the Bus to BS Hill, with a stop at Square Pond.

Square Pond Coordinates from Google Earth:
Lat: 28° 1'10.71"N
Long: 81°17'2.00"W

Rumor has it.....He damn near blew my son off my boat (I know it happens), but not even a look back or "sorry man" or anything.

BTW....The water is still WAY up. It makes for some nice riding, but it sure doesn't help my hunting.

I have no ideal what you're talking about. No one has been behind my boat all day. If I ever blow or interfere with anyone in any way I'm truly sorry. I go to great length to make sure I don't interfere with anyone. I have no ideal how, where or when this could have happened. Sorry

It may not have been you Steve, but someone with a big car motor boat with Daffy Duck on the rudders got me pretty good around noon. I was on a blue palm beach style boat sitting up in a hammock eating lunch under the oaks. There was a 4 cyl sled boat came in then the "Daffy Duck" boat. Like I said earlier, I'm not the type to get bent out of shape over getting blown because "it" happens from time to time, but whoever got me today didn't even acknowledge that they did it, and my son was with me.
