cntry's new ride

Post by stan »

Cheryl and I were up the creek sunday enjoyin the everflowing waters of juniper springs when low and behold I looked up and here comes cntry on his new ride. From a distance it looked like the standard airboat cept a whole lot quieter.after getin his boat parked amonst the other airboats I comenst to inspectin his boat a little further .I reckon the thing that struck me the most was the exhaust system ,headers leading down to flex couplings ,stainless steal mandrel bends ,silver line mufflers ,and tucked in the bottom of the boat were two giganic stainless rv performance mufflers.
I then took a break to enjoy the fine fish that was supplied by hogskinr ( pan fish, fillets of drum ect ) and fried by soon to be head creek chef hunter even had fried water melon by woody.
At around 4 pm cntry was getin gitery ( a kid with a new toy),he was realy needin a rudder fix bad . We left the creek and got on the lake headin to the pasture I held a steady speed around the lake runin in the shallow water maybe 6" deep
cntry was varin his speed be side me speeding up past me doin 180's and 360"s ahead of me goin in the oppiste direction past me turning and the he would go speeding past us cheryl noted that once when he went past that his facial skin had wraped around to his ears she figuared that he must have been go in pretty fast .
Just before reachin the cow pasture I looked behind me and seen that cntry was comin hard along my left side . I stomped the throttle and got ole southern style skinned back and breathin while cntry shot around me leavin us in his mist .Through the radio shack intercom cheryl strongly suggested that I back off and give southerns lungs a break ,well more like ordered me to, but any how.
We arrived at the pasture and I must say cntry did his usual easy on the gas ,an rode were good boats can't go Me I was just drewlin for the oppertunity for a boat ride and cntry obliged.
Cntry eased off the pasture got on plane , then he cominst to twistin the ears on the 396,Bout the time the conner of my lips were touchin my ear lobes the motor went dead . Investgation showed that the carter fuel pump was havein a hard time feedin the mighty demon with fuel .pressure on the pump was around 7Lbs cruisin but at wfo I could look back and pressure would go to 2lbs and by looking at carb sight glass I could see the fuel disappear .Hated to see him have problems however in a since I was kinda glad ,at the speed he was goin was somethin I wasn't a custom to ,I just ain't use to ridin with some one that fast .I guess I know how cheryl feels when I skin it back sometimes. Any way the shake down run went well just a few minor setbacks. And other then bein a basob of an airboat the darn thing don't make no sound.

Bring that new boat down to Seminole Co for the Poker Run on Aug 20th we have alot of good running right know with the water levels coming up.But it still takes a man of a boat to get past the Bird tower without running up on the grass.

I'll try to post the pictures cheryl took ,the house computer has been down and in the shop but i'll see.
Also I forgot to mention the technical stuff about cntry's boat . 8x15 alumitech hull, stainless riggin , 3 man front 3 man rear with rear steer ,cntry say,s the extra wide seats eliminate the brokeback airboater look.396 small block ,mighty demon 750 carb, X pipe exhaust system, Stinger soft drive at 3.12:1 ratio ,3 blade 82" Sensenich Super wide blade propeller set at the 3 mark turnin 4800 rpm's and gainin as it get's broke in.His set up is well thought out and the low rpm of the propeller adresses the propeller noise nicely as the super wide blade realy loves to run around 1600 rpms.

Thanks Stan I have no secrets now for sure LOL oh well never been good at them anyhow. It is back to the shop for a few tuneup items on the punchlist from the shakedown run but should be good to go by friday night at the club meetin. I am lookin forward to stabbin a few frogs again, I like fish but them legs are much better.

I will have some stationary pics of it soon but I have to depend on others for moving shots or video.

My gps batteries were dead it had been so long since I used it so I don't know how fast it goes but it is not a race boat, it is a barge, a good runnin barge though. I guess maybe 45 or 50 anyways.I need to get that gas problem fixed I am not use dto something runnin outta gas on me and it always happens at the worst times. I bought some parts today to fix the hangin up throttle setup so the adrenanline level will go down a notch or two. i couldn't really give it the good dry ground test in the pasture like I wanted to but it seems it will be ok once I can gas it up when I need to and get off of it when I need to.

Now its on to the bimini top shop and the a/c unit gets put in and the coffee pot and the deep fryer and we good to go. The queen size airmattress is a no brainer just pull the handle and it blows up I got a portable hot water heater for hot showers so it should be passable for a weekend trip.
Don't waste your time ... it is the only thing you can't get more of
.. if it accidentally looks like I gave advice please ignore it .. and notify me immediately
