Well I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Fired up the motor for the first time Saturday past. It purs very nicely, learned its a 150 instead of 160. very happy about that and low hours to boot. Boat is completly wired, seats are being done by Buttraxx, Rusty very nice and can't hardly wait to see them done. Pictures are of progress over the last 2 months to finish it up.

Asked Painterchic to give me some vinyl and wrapped and put together the console. Wired everything up and moving forward.

Image
Connecting the throttle in and making all the necessarry connections and brackets and as follows. Completing the connection at the carb with its return spring. All is easily adjustable.

Had to redo the floor again. The sun deteriorated it in 6 months. They warranteed it for me and had it installed with 3m backing and that alone is worth its weight in gold for installing.

Sprayed this on the floor. Its a UV protection and should work. Slightly tacky after two weeks, floor absorbed it well and we'll see how it holds up. Will be posting progress and results as they come do.

The boat's looking great, not many people would attempt to build one from the ground up any more.

Just a thought for what it's worth, you might want to put a second spring on the throttle. Springs tend to fail and things can get hairy real quick if you take your foot off the gas and it keeps going.

A good location would be under the pedal in the second picture. just my opinion!

Hey Alice, I warned you about taking the Red pill of Reality and the Blue pill of Illusion and then following that rabbit. :violent1:
I see a loose wire…the boat is fine, though.
Nice job man.
Let's ride soon.

with a push pull cable all you gotta do is lift the pedal with your foot if a spring fails theyre already stiff enough as it is

This is the last of the touch ups. Had some left over pressure treated wood. Laid it down in the storage area to keep things organized.

Finally got to the light at the end of the tunnel, should of taken the blue pill. Maiden voyage Saturday, Oct., 4, 2014. First started project November 27, 2010. Just shy of 4 years, headaches, moves, pay cuts, lack of help, no guidance, figuring s@#t! out, doing and re-doing, looking for deals, weeding thru the BS, fixing screw ups, countless hours, working with substandard tools and fighting time issues, it floats today. Rode it for an hour. Nerves were more shot today than a surprise visit to a blind proctologist with big hands and sharp fingernails. "0" issues, ran like a champ. Just waiting for my seats from Buttraxx and then its official sometime this month, will post the pics of the official/official date when that is installed. Went riding this Saturday past, got to the Hilton and ran back to the trail. Lost the trail on the way back, did some cross country, rode about 1 1/2 hours and burned 4 gallons. No water to drain at either ride. Slides nice, gets on plain just as fast as people that have seen it have predicted "almost immediately from stand still", and as one asked me many years ago with the transom kicked up like that how will that affect the ride. All I can say in regards to that is almost immediate response to turning. Me personally I have been on other boats with flatter bottoms that drift alot more and in the end its just a matter of preference. All I need now is some stick time a cooler full of beer and some friends to enjoy a slow ride.

I could be wrong but doesn't pressure treated wood have a reaction to the aluminum?
