intercom

Postby BlkHwk841 » Fri Jul 29, 2011 3:49 pm

Anybody know who makes a good intercom. Looking to put an intercom in the boat so I can talk to 6 people. Rarely will I have six, but would like to be able to if needed.

One of the best is Piratecom.com. Others take all sorts of things and make workable units too.
Do a search on here of the old threads on them.

Wired or wireless? Also depends on your budget. I've got Piratecom wireless setup for 6 and it's a pretty sweet setup, but a bit pricey.

I was looking at the wireless for 6 setup and it looks sweet. How much was that if you don't mind me asking? It says 1/2 mile range so im guessing you could give one to all your buddies and if they were within a half of a mile you could all talk.

The six person wireless is about 1500 bucks per person. Clear as a bell and designed for military use. Badazz for sure. I wont have one till the price comes down. The wired sets for six extreme model is about 3000. Call Trevor at piratecom and see what todays price is.

Damn, 1500 a piece? Three thousand for 6 wired? Geeshhh, I think I will just get head sets and listen to myself. I don't wanna pay that kind of money to hear people talk. Hell most of the time I want people to shut up.lol I have 6 person electronic headsets now, but all you can do is listen to the radio. Think, I'll just stick to that.lol Or maybe go to the bone yard and jack an intercom out of a plane.lol

I have an aviation intercom that I got off fleabay... :D

Flightcom 403 with voice activation...

It is a wired type system and I will have to solder up the connector & plugs myself...

But it does let you listen to the radio in between talking..

When I get it all connected, I will let everyone know how it works...
