Mrs Nancy

Post by Whitebear »

Has anyone thought of sending Mrs. Nancy a Christmas Card? I don't have or know her current address. Be a shame to forget her just because Bud is gone. I wonder if she needs anything at this time of year. Is there anything we could do other than a card? Just remembering that Mrs. Nancy was half of all that Bud was.

For the new members you might read the Flight 401 archived threads for insight to what I am talking about. :)

Tess put a Christmas card in the mail to Mrs. Nancy with a little gift certificate from everybody at Southern Airboat.

She always sends back a thank you letter whether she knows you or not.

Sure glad to see her reply Rick. Thanks for speaking for ALL of us as a family.

Her words sound so lonesome. Just breaks your heart. She must have had some wonderful life with Bud. I can't imagine anything anyone could do for her that would compare with her memories, except stay in contact, and know that we are also a good memory for her.

The card is the same one I got a note back on. She obviously doesn't know me individually. she just said thank you. When the time comes, I have no doubt that Nancy and Bud will be together once again.

It looks like there might be a number of us who send Miss Nancy a card and a little something extra for Christmas. I got my return card from her on Christmas Eve and it really tore me up it was so damn sad.

If anyone has any ideas on anything we could do for her either as a club or as just a group of individuals, Im in.

Just thinking out loud Pirate, but Easter might be a good time to do something for her. I am all about individuals doing their own thing, but we might all sort of coordinate our send dates or something so it all gets there around the same time.

If anyone knows of immediate needs that are truely pressing, we can likely do a little something at any time.

Anybody has a better idea, I'm in.

Pirate, I too have traveled many miles east. Wife & I also have sent flowers, cards, and taken dinner to her & Don (her son) several times. Always got a reply or thank you in the mail. One of the greatest nights was when we took Bud & Ms Nancy out for their 61 anniv. Glad to see others on here that still care. Check out "The Widows Sons" when you get a chance.

Thanks Rick and rest of the people who sent cards. I got my card from her as well. I haven't been down to see them in quite a while. I'm gonna have to try and break away sometime and take a ride South one day. I been having a little family trouble of my own lately, but things are looking up, Thank God. When I make the trip I will keep you posted.

The words she writes makes my tear ducts go all crazy. 62 years is a very long time. I'd say most of the members on this site were not even alive 62 years ago. I personally am not upto speed on this topic at all, gonna have to search a few threads. Mr Bud and Mrs Nancy were obviously very outstanding friends and a lot of people have benefited in one way or another just from having spent time in their presence. A lot of times with people in Mrs Nancys position are most grateful for just someone to talk to. Some company goes along way. The cards r even helping more than some realize. This S.A. Family never ceases to amaze me. Incredible, there really r a lot of GREAT folks around. Sorry I rambled so long :)

SA has a core of some of the best people on earth ... we may may fuss and argue over trivial stuff ... almost tot he point of coming to blows but we usually don't go that far .. but when the chips are down ... you can count on the SA core members .. everytime I have heard of so far anyways ... There is however a five dollar fine for whinin without good reason LOL

Anyone not familiar, check out the Eastern Flight 401 Crash thread archives. Way more than can ever be told in a single thread or by a single person. :)

I'm the wife of a Traveling man. He was Master of Jackson Lodge #1.
He's up there with Bud now, but I'll do what I can to help her.
seems like she needs help finding a new doc and maybe some help with those Rx?
That's what I am reading from her note.

Thanks, Rick and the others of you who helped her in our family name.

Let me know how I can help.

I'm sure the way he died in that parking lot has weighed heavy on her heart.
