mine are never fast enough......buy thats the problem with all my toys.
At first they are all nasty fast, the more we run them the slower they become, ( it seems)

The mature adult in me  says that what I've built now, thats totally paid for, that runs perfectly fine, anywhere..... Is exactly fast enough.....

But my inner child says "... Surely I can build another one and go even faster!!! ..."

I guess my smallest boat was a little 90 GPU on a 10' WPB styled Taylor and the biggest was my 455 Buick boats we built. Ran a lot of for hire boats in the oil fields with BBC and Franklin redrives on them. Typically 16 footers hauling explosives. Had a few three engines 20 footers that were both fast and powerful. I have never owned or ran a boat that I had any real indication of how fast it went. I can't remember ever running one WFO to find out how fast it would go either. It just never mattered to me. In my personal boats I just like to frog and camp and in the Oil Fields it was all about safety. In either case neither required me to go fast or any more than a normal easy cruise where I'm not stressing the hull, the rigging the engine or the prop. I have only had 2 boats that even had a tach on them. I just back off of full throttle on climb out to a plane to where when it hits a plane it doesn't keep speeding up. I like just riding along with everything happy and nothing straining.

I'm not old at all but however fast mine is is fast enough for me. I don't even know what that is, maybe in the 40s maybe low 50s idk, but that's enough for me. I love a fast car like noone else but the water and wind and needing power or throttle to correct if something goes wrong always scared me. I like to cruise and if something happens, or it starts sliding, I got plenty of juice to get it back where I want it.

I dunno have enough money to ever have anything as fast as I'd like ha, but it's an on going thing always tinkering and playing with it whatever "it" may be to make it faster. I'm putting cams and thinner head gaskets in my 4 wheeler next month lol......

My boat is faster than all my buddies and thats all that matters!! I think my buddy "Kurt Kelley" said it the best, "Why be in a hurry to leave one group of A$$ holes, only to find another group of A$$ holes!!" It kinda made sense, me and my buddies always leave one place headed for the next, balls to the walls, only to discover the same group shows up everytime!!

I just hate getting stuck. stepping on it and letting it eat some air is fun when its wide open and I can see whats coming. Would love to swap my 480 out with a supercharged 480. It leaks oil and runs better than any boat I have ever had and I am afraid to mess with it.
