Where to ride near Leesburg???

Post by Hollywood » Thu Mar 08, 2012 1:53 pm

Whats up,

Just got my first airboat a few months ago and been riding down here out of Ft Lauderdale. I got a little vacation spot on Lake Griffin in Leesburg and wanted to know if there are any good spots in that area to ride. I've been taking the pontoon boat bass fishin out there and noticed some airboats on the road. Anybody know the area??? Thanks :old_glory:

In the middle of toun is a marina and boat ramp. I went there to do some trading a few weeks ago and thought this looked like a nice place to ride. Tom

Lotsa water in the harris chain, but not really any good A/B riding. Suggest you go west on 44 to the Withlacochee River, ramp on east side of river. Go north or south, decent riding

We rode the river leaving the 44 boat ramp this last weekend. It was a great ride and had a ton of fun. We went south and made it all the way to sleepy hollow for a great lunch.

Yes that is the way we went. The rain Saturday night made it a breeze. You will meet some great people and the scenery is beatiful. Make sure to stop at little blue along the way. Nice spot to hang out.

I appreciate the info, a couple of us are gonna ride up that way next month. Maybe see some of you guys out there. Yea we always ride to Haynes Creek and fish but its all deep water so it will be nice to ride some trails. So, south is the way to go from the ramp?? Whats little blue??

Little blue is a spring located ont the east side of the river a short distance south of the boat ramp on 44. Drop a line when you are coming we could get a group together to ride.

Don't try the trails around 4 corners or across from Sleepy Hollow, either :violent1:

Don't forget about Lake Panasofkee as a good ride area. Little closer drop in for river ride.
And don't go south of Nobleton tried last week and what water is there don't hide the rocks
very well. :angry5:
