Favorite hull what's your's??? Open aluminum hull

Post by BigJakesrq » Thu Apr 05, 2012 8:45 pm

If my boat ever sell I'm going to start my new build. Been asking around and every seems to have a different answer to my question and I know there's no right or wrong answer. With that in mind I figured I'd ask the masses via SA.

What is you're favorite open aluminum hull and why? If you have any experiences you'd like to add please do, just don't do any bashing, I don't want to see this one go to thread heaven :angel4:

More about what I'm look to get into 13-14' probably 7'6'' wide. poly and maybe walkboards. If you have any recent price quotes from you manufacture of choice please add them too.

Alumitech is my choice....great quality , fair prices, and their hulls run the ground very well. Diamondback is also a gorgeous boat and very well finished...

My last two Hulls have been Hamants. And my next one will be also. No reason for me to look any further. All the major manufactures are building nice Hulls now. I just like the ride and customer service. 15x8 ft open Hull and 11x7 ft open hull. My next one will be somewhere in between, 12-13 ft.

all depends on what you like if you like a boat that turns sharp and dont care a lot about sporty looks diamondback is your boat if you want the same thing in a sportier package skinnerback is what you want if you want a hull that slides and looks sporty a jb is what you want and if you like a any of the following and dont mind a boat that crowhops some an alumitech or hammant burns the hill up and panther thunder is a good choice as well however any of those three if ive drivin are prone to crow hopping when put in a hard corner just not my cup of tea for where i ride

Call don Davis aircraft grade alm loose hulls which means their fast but also good on fuel because of less drag on the water or the hill I like open hulls but sides need to be alittle higher good luck

of course I gotta say DB ,ive had a panther lightning ,and a classic and a bear and 2 oldschool hammants doug hamment made in his garage for me in the early 90,s ,and many fiberglass junkers ,but i gotta say my new DB is the best hull ive ever run or road on ,All the new hulls look sweet these day its just ur choice of a look ,I actually think the JB,s are the hottest lookin hull,s there just so low and sleek and it makes em look hot .Jake u like me like to carry a load so which ever hull ya pick get a deep sided one for sure it helps .but like already stated DB will costom make whatever ya want and the crafstmanship is awsome and turnaround is unbeatable ,I ordered mine and picked it up in nine days ,gotta love that .
!!! IM THE REAL NIGHT RIDER B!TCH !!! !!! AND A PROUD TO BE IN THE DIAMONDBACK FAMILY !!!!

Sorta along the same lines, but a slightly different direction:

If you wanted an open aluminum hull to replace a fiberglass hull for use on the Gulf of Mexico for 80% Saltwater (Inshore) fishing ... what would ya'll say then????
