Whatever you go with be sure to do .190 bottom..... then you dont need to worry about t6.

That is true. My next one will have a .190 bottom. The little bit of weight you save is jot worth it.

Prob the best advise is to go and test drive the diff manufatures boats with as close to the same powerplant, and hull specs your looking to buy, and then make your own call on what suits you best.

My favorite aluminum hull.

.190 bottom
.125 transom
.090 sides, and bow/deck
2-2x1/4" main stringers
5-1.5x 3/16" stringers for the rest

14x7.6' on mine and its perfect for me where we run alot of narrow cypress trails on south St Johns. If all I road was lake Kiss I probably would have gone 8' wide. To compensate for the slightly narrower running bottom I just put my prop a full coke can forward from transom and it floats amazing.

For the way you rig a boat I would probably go 15'x 8'. Good luck on whoever you decide to do it. There are only two that would ever build my open aluminum hull.

Use 7975t6 and 140 th would be thick enough hard as a rock lite and stronger than welded grade 190

jb airboat are t6 no extra
you can come by my shop right know and the hull that was i think mike log's, then i think eddies it was built by jb it's a nice hull and i cross measured every point and is right on but it is not t6 oit is a weak 5052 that bottom moves all over the place i'm making him put at least 3 jacks just to hold it true
never made one single hull ever that wasnt 6061 t6 bottom ,,,,, mike loggins saw it stamped all over it when it was new .... they all move around some when empy unless there real narrow bottom...

Scorpion sure makes a sweet riveted open hull and they are saltwater friendly.

Let me be one to clarify that hull is t6 .125 bottom with 9 stringers. It toted crazy weight with a big block and then Lil eddie got ahold of it and ran the dog shit out of it. How's the bottom look? JB hulls ftw

If you run down the Suawnnee to the Gulf, remember the oysterbars out there! I dont know if that thrown into the mix of advice makes a big change in opinion, however you might want a lot of POLY!!! My little Alumitec gets babied out there, I dont want to scratch the 2000.

Not exactly qualified to answer this question since I've only owned the 1. It's a 16X8' Seminole fiberglass. I CAN say that I love the roominess, the deep sides and layout, just wish it was a lighter, aluminum hull. Redoing the motor and prop is costing me too much, however, so I guess I will ride this puppy til the bottom cheese-graters. lol Maybe then I'll be able to afford a new hull
