this will be the greatest event for our heros ever..i am proud to be a member of the S.A. community and only wish i still had my sled to be a part of this special event. i hope to have another AB for next year if it becomes an annual event, i will be there. Congrats to all that are making this possible for our heroes. unless i have overlook the info, has anyone got an idea on how many boats are lined up to provide the trail ride and how many heroes and family members that will get a day that they will remember.

In case you are worried about the weather, I will paste in a forecast just for us
from a friend who works with NOAA on predictions. He runs models for some
folks and I am lucky to be in his distribution list!

He says all this "puffery" is just that -- as of this a.m. he did not believe
the storm would be as bad as is being predicted.

I asked him specifically about where we are riding tomorrow:

Re: Saturday – WW ride in area 2A

Might be a little windy and there is the possibility of some squalls
but in general the rain and wind
will be moving up to north Florida Saturday.

Maybe not ideal weather
but not strong winds unless a rouge squall goes through.
most probably, weather will not be a
problem and

I wouldn't be surprised
if you got little or no rain at all.

I would go for it.

Man what a wild and great day! Everyone worked together at the ramps, meet up at judges seemed to work, looked like everyone had a great time at lunch! The worst boat of the day was mine! We had a mid morning tap that took out my rake. It did its job boats good everyone safe. Later i started tearin thru belts. Got it patched and rolled on! Fwc had a few boats out. One boat even helped bring in the plates and stuff cause i broke down. The other was goin out of his way to make a scene. All in all i think it went great!

Thanks swampthang it was great to meet you as well.

I enjoyed having an opportunity to help out and the chance to meet a lot of y'all.

Thanks to Gerald for his hospitality and everybody that put this together.

Special thanks to Shanon and Wayne and Fernando for putting up with a newbie in their boats!

I didn't get to go through much of the pics and most of my video is horrible. Due in large part to my shaky cam skills.
I'll post one here with the disclaimer that you watch at your own risk of camera shake induced seizure.

Somehow, I can't seem to get the video to show using the youtube code so I'll put a direct link.

It's not hard to distinguish the weekend warrior from the true airboaters. We were short 30 airboats. Some can't or shouldn't for good reason. There are those that can, will and do and those that don't.
To open ones eyes, you must let them see!

Remember; sometimes it's better to be thought a fool than to open you're mouth and prove it.

Well it turned out to be a great weekend....Gerald did a excellent job....showing up at Old Glory was like pulling into an Oasis in 2A.....I unfortunatley didn't make it to the landing at lox rd Sat morning because we didn't get my boat running till about 10am....my boat capsized Friday night in the strong winds....but its all good now......I want to say Thanks a lot to my buddies White Power (Chris) and Flipper for helping me with my boat....and also thanks to everyone that helped out with the whole event....it was an epic event and should be done more often...it was a pleasure to meet Ron Hill, Kyle "Pipedog", and KoreyC.

I was talking to Newoldglory, Gerald, and I saw a minor threat and watched a man resolve that problem like lightning! In fact he was solving quite a few of the problems. I was real happy to meet him!

There was also a lady at camp that had a great command of the whole traffic deal on boats at Old Glory. She deserves credit also! I didn't get her name. I am sure all you 2a folks know her.
