Southwest GA - Places to ride...

Post by OTTER » Sun Nov 04, 2012 10:30 pm

Anyone on here ride in the SW Georgia area (Early, Terell, Worth, and Randolph Counties ). Contemplating re-locating in the area and considering keeping the boat if there is areas near where I can use it... Georgia is a whole NEW world for me and my family.

Oh yeah you definitely want to keep your boat! There's a guy named lee (lsx1) that rides down at lake Seminole plus another 5 boats. Not all those guys are on here but you can pm lsx1. Plus there's an airboat shop in bainbridge I think. You won't find them like you do down in Florida but if you look hard enough and talk to the right people you will find that there's a lot more airboats in Georgia than you would think. I'm sure the other guys will chime in here shortly

There are plenty of us and plenty of places to ride here! I am in N. FL near Tally but we all ride in the same places. It is nothing like you are accustomed to but definitely worth holding on to your boat. Just like anywhere else, there are places you don't want to ride and people/groups that you want to avoid. Holler when you get up here :thumbleft:

Keep the boat. If your in early county you'll be next to the river and seminole is at the end of hwy. 39.
A picked but unmowed cotton field is not bad either.

OTTER: Don't sell the boat. There are many lakes to run up here and also a bunch of rivers. I will warn you though, the ridding up here is much different than back home (South Florida.) There is a lot of deep water with really no marsh to speak of, but it is still a lot of fun to ride. You can run through the pine forest on Seminole and through the marshy area's on Iamonia, Jackson, and there may be others but i haven't gotten out to the other lakes yet. The marshy areas are small though (compared to home anyways.) If you decide to make the move give me a shout and we'll ride.

Come on up to GA. OTTER, bring the boat you are going to need it to ride with us, Me and a few others are dye hard airboaters in GA. We ride SEMINOLE, IAMONIA, JACKSON,and MICCASUKEE. Nothing like blazing NEW trails and mostly dry running with great fellowship. Me and MOFO rode IAMONIA a month ago, over half the lake was dry.We ran like a mile or more with no water in sight, so you may want to hold on to your airboat, and your more than welcome to run with us anytime. Right now I'm hunting wildlife, but we will be ready come FEB. I'll give you a shout [PM] then. Thanks LSX1.
