National Weather Service East Central Florida ! ! !

Post by Whitebear » Wed Jun 05, 2013 11:24 am

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a
* Flood Watch for east central Florida...including the following
areas...coastal Volusia...Indian River...inland Volusia...
Martin...northern Brevard...Northern Lake...Okeechobee...Orange...
Osceola...Seminole...southern Brevard...Southern Lake and St.
Lucie.

* From late tonight through late Thursday night
* a developing low pressure system north of the Yucatan Peninsula
is forecast to move north northeast through Thursday towards the
Florida Big Bend region. A large area of rain with isolated
storms is expected to occur well to the east of the center.
Increasing low level wind fields are expected to produce bands
of concentrated heavy rainfall. Amounts of 3 to 6 inches are
possible with locally higher totals.

That Low off Mexico is now Tropical Storm Andrea. Moving NE so far and not very fast. Don't forget what Tropical Storm Fay did to us. Be ready for LOTS of water.

As long as I don't have any trees fall I'll be one happy camper come Saturday morning. It does seem though that if a tree is going to fall in citrus County and do damage to personal property it's going to happen at my house.

So far just a nice very light rain in my area near Plant City, and very little wind.
It could rain like this for a month and not bother me. The aquifers definitely need it.

1.9 inches in Flying Eagle so far water has come up about 4 inches on the shore of the Leslie Hefner. It will take about 4-5 more inches on top of this to help the Eagle, Flats for the weekend. Fingers crossed. Good thing is, it will flow our way from down south (Green Swamp) in a week or so if we can't get it today.

Here at Old Glory Camp, The bad part went north of me across 2A. I got 1 " over nite and through out the day. A few twisters were spotted north of me but no more than 35 MPH winds here. 8) The heavy rains will flow south on it's way to the gulf so I will see a lot of it soon. Needless to say, all this fresh water is playing havoc with the froging and fishing.
