Road into Thomas Landing?

Post by JB550 » Wed Feb 12, 2014 9:06 pm

How is the road? Also does anyone use the boat ramp at tiger lake? Just trying to avoid the mayhem at Camp Mack.

Thanks dave. I usually put in at shady Oaks but this is one of the rare occasions that the little lady is commin. A long trip on a cold morning is not her idea of fun. Lol. What about Tiger Lake? I see a boat ramp on Google earth.

There's a ramp at the fish camp on Tiger Lake / Sam Keene Rd. - be careful on Tiger Creek into Lk. Kissimmee - lots of switchbacks and nasty curves. Inside trail is better, but, watch out for oncoming traffic there as well.

So how's the road to Thomas Landing now? Thinking of going up there for the cleanup weekend and wanted to stay there. Do they still have rentals and all? Haven't been in quite a while.

I've stayed in some pretty crappy places before but I seriously considered sleeping in my truck when we went to thomas landing last year. The place is in a state of disrepair. If you are going to rent a place there, bring bleach. I was also in 4x4 to even get there. Not worth the hassle.

Yeah, it was getting bad when I was there last, and that was 3 years ago. How is Grape Hammock? Can you pull your boat up on shore there?

Collman shadey oaks is a brand new facility with full camper hook ups as well as kicker boat and airboat dry launch ramps and plenty of shore line parking. With Thomas landings road in such bad shape that's why the KRVSA moved the lake clean up to shady oaks.Grate new place and airboat friendly. :old_glory:
