There is no cheap boat. Especially not an airboat. Cheap is a 350 sb dd. And it will nickel and dime you to death. If it has wheels tits or a prop its gonna give you troubles.

OK then you need to layout what you want as a complete boat.

We also need some idea of budget.

Used boat in decent shape, DD SBC with a warp drive prop. It'll get you there and back on a modest budget…unless you're running dry. Need redux then.

ur missin the point bud i left a bunch of stuff out an airboat seems like itll be fairly cheap til u have to buy the smaller stuff tank radiator hoses clamps switches gauges cables seats cushions flex pipe mufflers nav lights wiring bolts and nuts and so on its cheaper to buy one built already esp if u want a dd cm boat because they dont hold value very well theres one 5k

Gunna be tough to have a 350 dd running land and cheap it costs alot of money to have a dd 350 run dry, i bought and built my first boat 350 dd ended up with 7 grand in it and it wouldnt run a lick of dry ground. Take these guys knowledge and buy one already together, wish i woulda, now i sold that boat and have one that i really enjoy.

Buy one put together. Way Cheaper. Ive done it too many times. Trust me its expensive to build a boat. Just cause you have a trailer and access to some material that doesn't even scratch the surface. if you want to make it your way buy one then customize that one to your liking. Theres 10 people on here telling you same thing. Listen!! Just saying. Good luck!

I have a Long Sad Story for you. I had a guy going to build a cheap boat for me with a 220 GPU. He was recommended by my cousin who thought he knew the guy pretty good turns out he didn't know him at all. Well now its One Year Later, Along with a Whole lot of Lies, One Hell of a Mess and $14,000.00 spent. I finally found Lacy Everett, I took this big old mess to him and he and Floyd are straightening it out for me. I wish I had started out with him first. Remember You get what you pay For... Go talk to Lacy at Roddman Airboats or go find a good complete boat and have someone who knows airboats check it out for you. You can get a lot of help right here on Southern Airboat. Don't get taken advantage of.

Buy a boat already built from the classifieds or something,,,

Ride it,,, Enjoy it,,, Learn from it,,,

Then start to tweek it and make it like you want,,,

But you are not going to run dry until you spend lots of money,,,

Too many people on here are telling you the same thing for you to ignore them,,,

Good luck,,,

I built a HEAVY 13 ft fiberglass boat, direct direct drive small block for about $6200. I used a bunch of used parts and completely rebuilt a junkyard motor. I did (with the help of Ty from GTO) alot of my own fabrication and welding. If I had started with a lighter hull I would be much happier. It wouldnt have cost that much more money to have used a big block vice a small block. In my opinion, if youre going direct drive, use a big block or go AC. THere are some bad SBs out there but most have gear /belt drives. Everything is a perf/cost tradeoff. I would advise you ride on all the different types of powerplants around you and then decide. Good luck with your build.
13 ft Diamondback, GSO-480, 4 blade Q, gas tank too small, not enough cash to fill it.
