When running on ice and wind blowing you could not steer so they drop them down and drags on the ice to stay straight called scratchers on snow mobiles I never seen them on airboat it was cool

Is Diamond Back the only manufacturer that uses the scratchers? Pretty cool concept if they work...

Hell I don't know many that can have a bigun ride like that i think it's fair to say it will be a show boat to impress anyone including the other elite builders. I wouldn't spend that much on an airboat cause I'd be afraid to scratch it but I think it's awesome they can build such a beautiful machine and think it's even more awesome how much bigun is going to enjoy killing time on it. You only live once play hard! You deserve every minute you spend on that thing especially after waiting so long to sit in the drivers seat :). Gotta be killin u

Been following this thread from the start. Looking forward to seeing the finished boat. My new DB is at the painter right now as well. Mine was being built at DB the same time yours was, and I always checked to see if it were in the background of any of your pics. What did you change this time as far as the hull goes from your last one, other than the grass rake design?

I think POTUS should look into this. I'm for Fair ownership of airboats. It's only Fair that everyone have the same boat. The redistribution of airboats would be the only Fair thing to do. Everyone works hard for their boat , so the only Fair thing would be everyone has same boat. This is the USA , and we are all about being Fair . Too many airboaters are treated like second class airboaters so the Fair redistribution of airboats should be handled by the Federal government Fairly. We could call it the FAA , Fair Airboat Agency.

So in all Fairness , to prevent you from feeling guilt , Big Un , I'll swap you the Cat for your new creation. I mean it's the only Fair thing to do.

Bigun, this kind of mentality drives me nuts. I've dealt with it for years. Everybody thinks I grew up sitting behind this desk but they weren't there when it was just me and a truck. Where were they when I was dragging bedsheets through the grassbeds next to US1 in Grant trying to catch bait so I could fish for my dinner? More than once I had bait stew. Don't recall anybody helping me crawl through attics in the middle of August or swing a mattock either. Where were they when I was studying for a calculus or fluid mechanics exam at 3 in the morning, knowing I had to open the shop at 6:30? Yet they chastise my success. And yours and the millions of others like us that worked our balls off to get where we are. And finally, as we are reaching the end of our working lives, we have amassed enough extra cash to do a few nice things for ourselves and we are not worthy of stepping into the game? I have a lot of things I could say about that but Steve Reid's picture does it best. You go, Big Guy! And build another one just like it for your girls and name it 'Wild Card.' ;)

I think if you can afford it then Build it, if a man works hard for what he's got then he should be able to build what ever he wants and I'm happy for him, this whole thread has been pure ART in the making and I have totally enjoyed watching and reading about every step of it, this is nothing but a very cool exercise of what can be done with an airboat and this boat will be absolute state of the art when done and I can't wait to see it :toothy7:

Bobby has been making tweaks to the bottom of all the boats, mine will have more flat bottom than Venom, I drove the white boat which had that new flat bottom and with 550hp it was impressive then with lower sides brings the prop down and he raised the rudders on the deckover rigging to have more authority. Good luck with your new build heck post a pic of the build I am sure I seen yours. Thanks

Cat my family tells you I have no feelings lol but I better pass would not want you to feel like I cheated you as your boat is sweet.    but I have it up your way soon so we go for a spin

As diamondback does most of all the detail you see on my boat to all their boats and that is kind my info commercial attempt at this thread. Every DB has riveted Poly, ever DB has front bow cap and deck riveted on open hull so the list goes on, They have a dedicated quality control guy that does nothing but walk around the shop QC repairs or builds, please do not think that you have to build expensive boat to get their best as that is not how DB works. From just a hull to full blown boat with all the whistles DB will do you right. Plus I love taking pictures and da mn proud of what Diamondback is building for me :rebel: :rebel: :old_glory: :old_glory: :old_glory:

Now enough of that cannot wait till weekend should have most of the color done dang rain sucks today but Killin TIme will be completed soon and I get back on the water in couple weeks Freedom Ride time :thumbleft: :salute: :salute: :salute:
