I will definitely be there. Is he doing acoustic or is he bringing out a generator? I would love to throw down some harp with his strong rockabilly style music.

We're going to hook him up, JB.

Brownwater is in charge of equipment. He's got a generator, a pair of big boxes and an amp --

Hope some of the great local talent shows up, too.

Of course, there's gonna be some cooking.

Maybe some boot scootin'.

SwampStock is born.

More specifics to come. HUGE THANKS to JB 550 for stepping up to take over the amp and speaker system -- JB will be performing as well and lots of people swear he's the best harmonica man anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if some more entertainment doesn't pop up. My guess is we'll gather mid afternoon to eat -- that's very important --- then great music will get going afterward.

Always going to be date conflicts -- regret this one . Matt is going to be in Florida for the week around Saturday, Dec, 13. It's his ony time to ride, slide and make music. He'll be riding with me. We will come off the river and make our way from Iraqi to Hotdog in no particular hurry. We will visit all the usual places. Kieth and Brownwater are the leaders. Food, fun and great music at Hotdog starting probably mid-afternoon till we run out of fuel and willing musicians. It's supposed to cool off, so I'm guessing there will be a warm fire. Crazy hats, great peeps -- and a bad azz EcoTech or two to spank some grass ... Whatever else happens, happens

Several different ways to get to Hotdog -- from Hwy 44 in Inverness through Moccasin Slough, to Floral City and Sleepy Hollow to the Lake Pan Outlet or Dam Pub. We are shooting for Iraqi at about 10:00 am. Long range weather forecast is 70 / 52 and clear. Matt's been checking in every day and he's excited and ready to play.

South from there to Iraqi Isl. ??? Surely we will find somone there to follow...!!?? what would be an estimate of the distance from dam pub or wherever would be closer, to Hot Dog..?? any ideas or thoughts would be more than greatly appreciated. :dontknow: Im sure the water's good too....good weather, should be a beautiful day.... :) :)

Dam Pub or Outlet Canal Park are easy launch spots. Iraqi is a great bet to find a "guide" to Hotdog Island. We will be by there about 10 am as we ride and video. We rode from 10 and until after dark there yesterday -- tons of water. One tricky road crossing - limerock / one lane / up and over. Everything else was so easy a caveman could do it.

Expect we will end up at Hotdog after noon -- then we'll cook what we brung - 120 Uncle Johns Pride Sweet Smoked Country Sausages. Then JB 550 and Matt Farris will do their thing. I expect to be there till well after dark.

Gonna be nipply to cold at night and "brisk" during the day. Perfect airboating weather and water conditions.

There was a pontoon boat there Saturday that came from Sleepy Hollow, so it's possible to get there without crossing a woods road or running dry.

Looks like we are going to have clear cool weather for Saturday. High of 67 and a low of 44. Perfect airboating weather. The south side of Hot Dog Island will be roped off to make shur that Matt doesnt accidentally get blown while performing. Please everyone be on point to help keep this from happening. There will be a fire in the middle of the island so I would recommend parking on the outside and walking in. It would also be a good idea to bring a chair to sit on. Big thanks to Brownwater Dave for providing a generator for power. Big thanks to Daddy Dave Marquette for bringing Matt out to the island, and an huge thanks to Matt Ferris himself for wanting to come there and play for us. I am shur that there are going to be a lot of people show up for this. There are several very close spots that you could be shuttled in from if the island gets too full. I will be setting the PA system up at around 2 to 3 oclock. Music, good food, bonfire and airboats. Sounds like it could be a recipe for a good country song :dontknow:

Lake Panasoffkee is holding their annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, too. Airboaters coming in on I-75 to SR 470 should be through town by 9:30 or after Noon -- or, go around to SR 44 and come in on SR 470 from the north. Dress warm, it's going to be a cold, clear ride.

Yes sir - Should be a good day. We are leaving a home on the river to Iraqi and should get there around 10:00am hopefully. Then riding piddling as Dave calls it, and eventually cooking and setup on Hot Dog Around 2:30pm. But, its like herding a bunch of wild cat's... I am busy charging gear for some filming and hope to take of around 7:30 in the morning. Just text or call when your out Reed - I think we should also keep the "In-Bound traffic" to the North Trail and River Bound folks on the main trail. Worried a bit if folks dont go slow. Anyway, will be another adventure for sure. I hope to shoot a lot of 4K aerial shots of boats leaving Iraqi and travelling the north trail thru the Myrtles. Geek stuff..

See ya in the am sometime.

Counted 54 airboats at Hotdog at 4:00 - with others coming - great people, no problems, great food, great music - only complaint I heard was Harmonica Jeff didn't keep playing -- his harmonica solo rocked the joint. Matt Farris put on a great show picking and singing.

All credit to Brownwater Dave, Camo Ken, Keith Lucier, Todd Stanley, JB 550 and Pell -- believe an annual event has begun.
