There's plenty of water in 2A but the main attraction there is the camps and the people that own them. Unfortunately, most of the people will be working that Monday and the camps most likely will be closed. It's totally different than 3A; there are no cypress trees to speak of and the only dry ground is at Old Glory camp. Bottom line is 3A is more of the Everglades experience than 2A. 2A is all sawgrass, cattails and willows, depending on where you're at. I did not get an opportunity to go to 3A this weekend. Last weekend when I was there, the water was perfect; like a giant slip and slide. But, unless you have poly, you cannot get into the swimming hole (that is, unless you are willing to take you chances and stay up on plane across the rocks. The rocks are still submerged). There are three places I know of where rock is an issue; at Bergeron's, just past Camp 9-1/2 if you take the south trail (which is preferred right now since the other trail goes to Bergeron's) and the trail leading to the tower canal. I would stay away from Bergeron's and the tower if you are concerned about your bottom. There is a path up in the grass where the rock is by Camp 9-1/2 so that's easy to avoid and it's a fairly short patch anyways. Everywhere else, you should be good to go as far as the main trails go. If anyone else knows of rock that I didn't mention, hopefully they will weigh in. Also, there are other choices of trails to use to bypass the rock at the two camps I mentioned if you are launching at the 35MM so that is always an option. I've never encountered rock on the trails I speak of and they take you to the Hawk camp as well.

You let me know when you're bringing down that elk. Been a long time since I've had any. ;)

Just to let all you guys know that are planning on riding to the tower. I hope you have a bottom poly because the water is low and you will need it with all the cap Rock in the trails and there's plenty of rocks all around Bergeron's that you can see. but I'll be more worried about the ones you can't see

I'd rather ride area 3 any day of the week, but it sucks the fun out of a ride when you're worried about rocks all day. The last time I was out in area 3 was a month ago and you could already see rocks in some trails. I vote area 2.

If you stay away from the swimming hole and the north side you don't have to worry about rocks we rode all day this past Saturday with no problems at all it's perfect at the monument for some hot laps I vote 3a my o2

I ran 3A 5 days ago out of marker 41 with Billy Kline, South and west to the tower, then north through Indian land to his camp, then east to the burn and the north to the 41. If you can't run dry then you don't want to go there. If you are set on sliding 3A, then you want to be with some one that has been there within the week or less. The water is dropping fast.

Come and check out the Broward show this weekend, and see all the great show boats and vendors.

And be sure to stop by the WhirlWind booth. We have several new items making a debut at this show. 8)

We will also have the Forward Swept propeller on display for anyone to look at, touch, or ask question. :thumbleft:

Oh, and me - I'll be there in person. :salute:

The ramp at 40 Mile Bend will be down for repair this weekend, until Wednesday I believe. But there are ramps east of there that can be used.
