you will need all the reciepts from the metal you purchased showing that you paid tax on the materials. there are a few forms to fill out. don't remember cost, it was few years ago when I did mine.

I did this about 8 months ago.. you can call them to be sure but I remember they want all the receipts you have to build the boat or get as many as you can,(sheet metal, rigging materials, seats, nuts and bolts ,Ect.) the bad part is they want all original receipts, Not copies.. so make your own copies for (Your records)
make sure your receipts have sales tax on them for example my Summit receipts didn't show sales tax for some reason so I didn't turn them in.
I think the cost was less than $60 bucks. ( they will issue you a HIN#)

No I didn't build the hull I just had to put the deck on and majority of the stuff I bought for it came from Craigslist and off of here and the rest was online

I did mine homemade, they didn't ask me for nothing except how much it weighed and the length, no receipts or nothing :slap: 30 bucks I think for the title and they issued the new hull number and all in the Melbourne office, and yes I bought the hull in tack but I built the rigging and everything else, maybe I got lucky

You can also tell them you used materials on hand. If you do that then you dont need to supply anything else.

Tell them it's build from materials that you had in your yard. Then you have to get a form notarized stating that. Very easy. I've done it twice now. Deerfield beach tag agency is where I went. If you have any questions feel free to pm me

Depends on the length of the hull on how much crap you have to go through if it's under 14ft it will be much faster and less to go through.

I had a Manila folder full if receipts from Ace, HD, lowes. She looked through a few of them and said well, I see you paid taxes on all this. Gave me a registration and temporary title. Was in and out in 15 min. Perminant title came in the mail a week or two later. A whole lot easier than I thought. I then thanked her for making it so simple and told her how if been dreading it.

I just did this in December and didn't have to provide anything. I live in Jacksonville but I went to the small town just to the north of me because I live about between the two and did it there (small town people are usually much more helpful). It's pretty simple for boats under 16'. Anything over has to be inspected. total was about $45. I'm not exactly sure because I paid for a few other things at the same time.
