Mistake on the St Johns

Post by HuntingBigun » Sun May 10, 2015 6:07 pm

Most of my buddies have already heard but having great day at Halfway lake yesterday watching fast boats like Eddie, Helms & Airjacks do their thing taking pics and hanging out with new and old friends. Went for a ride north from swimming hole and seen a 540 boat stuck in dry trail older man and daughter waved us down so slide up to the bank little steep but deep did not think much about it bumped the nose tap the gas and boat pitch up stern went down do to deep undercut bank and faster you can say WTF snapped off 3 blades on the front prop, took out the radiator and couple wires on the cage. Now shit what to do no biggie went helped unstick the 540 wait for the help :D

Helms cruised up went back got more help Gary ALtman pulled me to north of Blairs Buff, Rusty Buttrax got ahold of Chipper and got the gate opened then Rusty ran Brad to get my trailer & Bobby had team Diamondback waiting at the shop for the boat. Gary stayed to keep me company so no time all is safe back on the trailer. Need some blades and little wire work be good as new. Time to try the 6 blade NGR anyway :D :D :D

So a big thanks to the great folks that helped me, and thanks for warm welcome by all the racers that I got to meet some of the names I been following like Fast Eddie, Airjack and more so I be back and bring my big lens and watch them undercut banks a little more carefully :thumbleft: :thumbleft:

Darrin figured we had some much pitch in the front prop when we dropped to nine blades that why they slapped so hard, you can see how it twisted the blade before it snapped so for sure 100%%% my fault

Fast Eddie was king of the river well atleast what I seen all the guys have really fast boats here he is spinning around come back to staring line

More pics on Flickr if anyone wants to see some sweet ride boats

Force of the blade hitting the water remember when I hit 3000 rpm I am already above 700lb torque so that with lots pitch slapped them the back prop was fine even though it was in deeper water :thumbleft:
