Need a boat ramp to test drive at.. Don't know area.

Postby SthrnStyle3 » Fri Jun 12, 2015 5:55 pm

Going with a buddy to pick up a boat for him. We're in Orlando and the boat is in Clewiston/south okechobee. Where is an airboat friendly boat ramp somewhere in the middle where we can test drive??

When I ride over there (I ride with some of the local guys in Clewiston), they launch at Roland Martin's in Clewiston, on the lake side of the levee. The trail there starts directly across from the ramp, heads north/west. Are you looking for a half way point?

If you want something that's more "in between," meet at the Twin Palms ramp in Lakeport off 78. About a 2hr drive from Orlando and about 45 minutes from Clewiston.

Yes, something almost in the middle. I was thinking lake Kissimmee but don't know where to launch or maybe there's somewhere around that area that easier access..? I'll look up the one mentioned already.

If you are using Hwy 27 Lake Istokpoga is about half way, and there is a boat ramp a few miles east of 27 on 98. PM me and give me a day and time, maybe I could meet up with you.

You can put in at Coleman landings at Shady Oaks on the south end of Lake Kissimmee, couple miles north of 60 road right past Westgate River Ranch Resort follow the boat ramp signs

1450 Shady Oaks Dr, Lake Wales, FL 33898

Good ramps easy access and you can run shoreline or the lake deep water your pick :thumbleft:
