Gator tags

Postby jeepinocala1111 » Tue Jun 23, 2015 10:24 pm

How does it work I cant find anything at their site explaining if there are four spots on a lake and I apply for all four can I get actually all four or just four chances at that lake? And is it only 5 applies per person?

only cost about 1400 if you get all 5 - there's no not paying this round.

I could be wrong but as I understand it this is how it works. Phase 1 (open to all, if you are drawn in that phase and choose to buy the tags you have to pick up a state alligator trapper's license $270 and comes with your two tags). Phase 2 of the application only open to those who did not buy tags in phase 1. Phase 3 open to all and they take a credit card # , if you get the tags you wanted they will run the $66 on the card). Phase 4 open to all first come first served on the remaining tags. Tomorrow they will announce the results from phase 3.

If I am wrong pls let me know :violent1:  :dontknow:

Phase 3 you put up your credit card for each tag you try to get and if you get that tag they charge you then 270 plus small fee. You can apply for 5 tags each tag gets you two gators but chances of getting picked are not great. Any tags left go to stage 4

Regardless of the phase you received your tag, the first one cost the standard 280 bucks, all subsequent tags purchased by the same hunter cost 62 bucks. If you win multiple tags in phase three, only the first one will cost 280, the remaining tags will cost 62.

If you are drawn for a permit which includes 2 cites tags in phase 1 or 2 then you are eligible to apply for up to 5 more. Since you pay for your trapping license in phase 1 or 2 for a sum of $272.00, then the tags purchased during phase 3 are at a cost of $62.00 each since you have already paid for and have a valid alligator trapping license.

Cost (All Sales are Final, No Refunds):
There is no cost to apply
$272 for Resident Alligator Trapping License (includes 2 CITES tags),
$1,022 for Non-Resident Alligator Trapping License (includes 2 CITES tags),
$62 for 2 CITES tags only (must have Alligator Trapping license)

That is copied straight from the fwc web site. The 62 for two tags is what you pay if you already have the trappers license , i.e. additional tags.

Deez two, it is all about the area you put in for, undesirable areas have plenty of tags

I applied for the same place and I bet there still will be tags in round 4 for the place. It just not about good and bad areas. I like to just get one set myself cant get drawn for tags they end up giving away in round 4.

When you put in on round 3 the claimer at the bottom say you will be charged 280 if awarded these tags? This is were i say? Is it just standard wording or

It says that because you have yet to win a tag in phases 1 or 2, if you had it would say 62 dollars.

Well if you picked one of those areas, look how many apply to how many permits there are, and this year phase three you have no choice but to buy, got to put your credit card in to apply, you win you pay

Now look at this list, much more quotas than applications, its all to do with the area you pick

yes but also you apply in round one for say place x = no permit
apply round 2 for same x permit, multiples left= no permit
apply now round 3 for same x permit =?

last year i watched the permits i applied for go to round 3 for first come first served. Yes i applied phase 1 and phase 2 (for the same permit). so a part of not getting a permit is people applying with no intention of buying. Now with this new phase 3 we will see. I also say move it to phase one and you buy the permit from the start.
