Just curious, Fast is one thing. Has it been tested on the hill ? How did it perform ?

Well I'm 340lbs and the owner is 345lb we were both on it and saw a supercharged counter rotator boat get stuck and we drove a few circles around him before we left. She will run dry like a beast.

I have to ask, what is the engine platform you are running? It sounds like an awesome setup.

That is truly impressive. As I said in an earlier post; "I will be keeping my eyes on this one". Obviously the propeller used can handle the 3400rpm your running, Hows the noise level at those high rpm ? Prop wise that is, the engine must be relatively quiet ?

I wouldn't pretend to answer questions for Dave Hartz, but what I can say is that back in 2006 the FAA had a 'Quiet Airboat Demonstration' at Loughman's Lake. Dave's boat won it, blowing 77.3 decibels through the test area with an LS engine and gearbox.

If Quiet is what you're after (and good for you if you are!) either one of us can show you how to get there.

I love airboating, "Hate the noise". My next build will be quiet as humanly possible, fuel efficient and power to spare. So far this build seems to have the power and fuel efficiency, It would seem quite difficult to tame down a prop turning 3400rpm

Dave do you have a Ball park Idea what this DD engine is going to cost once you get it where you want it performance wise, I am totally impressed with the fuel economy your getting but not surprised

We plan on selling a complete all new EFI DD motor for the same price as a fresh rebuilt O-540.

Yes fuel pump, headers, starter, alternator prop adapter everything but air filter. From what I hear a fuel injected IO-540 is running between 12k to 13k we plan on being below that.

Pump gas or as we say 7/11 best and you only need oil when you change it.

Dave how do you think this motor would perform on one of Wade's open hulls? How would it do set up as a true ride boat seating arrangement, like a single front steer double rear? Say like a 13' x7'6"?

And in an alluminum open hull boat where do i hide the nitrous tube any suggestions would be appreciated?

I always wanted a light ride boat I would love to have that motor on a hull like Rick has, what prop would you recommend putting on it for a ride boat with a hull like Ricks

Wade is building me a 14ft DD hull with a rear double seat, front single and a removable front single a total of 4 seats 14ft with walk around. I will just let you drive it and see for yourself. I only had nitrous on 1 DD so far and people are still complaining, so we didn't put it on the Deck over. Hell it's hard enough getting races on motor if I had the bottle it would be next to impossible to get a race.

I seen Neils boat in action yesterday on the Hill, it moves and runs on green dry ground easier than my 11x7 Scorpion with a SV0540 and my boat has Quickslick. I was at WT's ordering my 500hp LS3 carbed motor with a Gearbox +8 blade Saber, and when we were done Dave said let me show you something outside. Boys and Girls that's one bad @## DD, I always said BS to Dave's claim of the DD also, But seeing is believing my Mother always said so I'm not sure if I want a gearbox on my new build being a 12x7.3 AL DAVID DECKOVER or not. Thanks LSX1
